It's been reported that HTV are handling the remastering. As is typical for a post facility to do. The project itself is probably been headed by a producer from Fox, as is also typical (would Robert Meyer Burnett be involved?). I imagine Chris Carter may be being consulted with, but there's no reason to think the various directors and DPs are all sat there discussing how best to frame the show, or indeed, that they are even the ones who actually get to make that sort of decision.

But you don't know that for certain? More like speculation on your part?

I know that HTV are handling it, and I know that the various directors and DPs from TV shows are rarely involved in these sort of projects (and definitely would not be the ones to decide whether the show is released in 4:3 or 16:9).

What do you "know" precisely?

Unlike you(interesting you can't quote my responses?), I don't claim to know anything about the technical process of this release. I've maintained all along that I'd like to hear from Carter, et al, about how they went about this BD release...or even if they did anything at all.

So, all you are doing is going by other HTV releases, that have nothing to do with The X-Files, and coming pretty close to stating speculation as fact?

That's all I need to know, thank you!

I can quote your responses, but choose not to since we're the only ones talking here. If someone else posts before me, I'll go back and edit your quote back in. Don't worry about it.

Again with these "fact" accusations. The only facts I've posted are indeed facts. Any speculation along with them has been clearly noted.

But what on earth is this argument about? We're literally arguing about you misinterpreting something. It's ridiculous.

You said you simply support whatever the creative team ends up doing. I asked why since many creative teams end up making bad decisions (see: hundreds and hundreds of Blu-rays). What's the problem? My intentions with that question are clear now, so why drag this nonsense debate onward instead of just answering my original question?

Actually someone did post in between, so there's that...but I digrees...
Now we've already established that when I say creative team, I mean the people who call the shots on the film: Director, DP, people of that nature. Not studio heads, or some control panel jockey.
So that what said, can you please list the hundreds of films that "intentionally had DNR put into it" by: the Director or DP. Thank you I'll wait.
I'm not arguing. I said I'd like to hear what the creative team has to say about this potential BD release, you said the creative team(again director/DP) has nothing to do with it, just in house HTV. That sounds like fact to me. So I asked you to provide a source. You just said "other TV shows have done this"...which ain't a reliable source. Unless you have something else a little more definitive. I'll wait for that also.

I will no longer debate this nonsense over nomenclature with you. You meant the DPs/director's, I meant the guys who are actually doing the work. Fine, whatever.

Obviously when I referenced hundreds and hundreds of BDs with DNR, I was referring to the remastering teams who have done it, not the DPs/Directors, who obviously haven't. So there's no point in asking for a list that doesn't exist.

Exactly!
Sorry you take so much offense to someone just asking you to clarify your posts?

LOL! Half this thread is pretty much a waste, at this point. Everyone is getting riled up about some OTA screencRaps. Nothing has been announced or confirmed, so it's just mainly speculation.

I just like to understand what is fact, and what is fiction...as some like to pass off speculation as fact.

So it's okay for you to misinterpret what I say, but not for me to misinterpret what you say? I thought you meant the guys doing the post, you thought I meant the DPs/Directors. I clarified what I meant clearly in post 1906, and you ignored my clarification in post 1907 and continued to request a list I obviously could not provide. I then reclarified in 1908 what I meant, and you yet again ignored it and asked for this non-existent list in 1919.

So what. You saw the fake ceiling in Malcolm in the Middle all the time... didn't ruin the experience because the acting was so great.

All I'm saying is that, it shouldn't be an issue and even if it was, it is easily fixable. It may not look pretty, but i was able to make the crewman disappear using nothing but 5 year old software and as i said, it took me only a few moments.. With the remastering techniques they have, it should be childs play and it would look much better.

It didn't misinterpret anything you said, I was just asking you to clarify.
So just for the record, you don't know anything at all about what is going on with this release? Or if you do, could please elaborate, with verifiable sources.
All friendly conversation, of course. Thank you!

You were asking me to clarify which directors and DPs I meant applied DNR to projects, after I said I was never referring to directors and DPs.

Yes, we all understand that now.
I was asking you what you knew about this possible X-Files release? Do you have any concrete information?

I can not confirm if this was something that was done in Germany when the show was originally broadcast in the 90's.
Yeah it was, I remember it.

Not sure if this has been noted yet, but HTV say they are using "iConform" to create HD masters of the X-Files (http://illuminatehollywood.com/illum...s-development/).

If you look at the page that details iConform (http://illuminatehollywood.com/iconform/) it sounds like they say it's all automated? Does this mean a computer decides the crop? I certainly hope not!
