The Dave and Joan and fat guy were taken from the Ennis (I believe) story arc, also involving the Russian. The only real problem I had with the writing on that part was; it was already done in the comics. But, most comic movies seem to be story-arcs ripped straight out of the comics...there's not a whole lot of originality on the writer's parts. |

I forget his name all the time...when you wrote that I had to think about it for a second. Ray Parks has also (supposedly) been slated to play Iron Fist forever and a day, but constant stall and set-backs...

The info I got on it was from my friend. Usually, if I haven't heard about it, he has. It's possible we're both wrong (it's happened a couple of times), but every ounce of Jane's letter leads me to believe what I stated earlier was correct. "Fighting the fight for the fans" and so on...

I really like Thomas Jane (from Thursday) but I never really got casting him as the Punisher.
Having said that, I think he did a good enough job and I really enjoyed the first movie. (I wish the director's cut was on Blu Ray.) I'm going to be on board with this movie because of content, but I really can't stand the lack of continuity. I guess we are just going to have to treat them as two completely seperate entities...rather than a series. |

Point. But at the same time, 9 times out of 10 the fans ***** about the story arcs when they are used (See: The Phoenix Saga). Comics fans are a fickle bunch altogether I guess.

However, there's a HUGE difference between using a story arc that is good and then using a story arc that is utter shite. If they had done the Phoenix arc correctly it would have taken at least 2 more movies before the "Oh shit, Jean's evil" climax. I mean the only reason that Cyclops was 'killed' {they always seem to get better} in the 3rd one was because James Marsters is a wank that wanted to get paddled on the bum by the director of Superman Returns {who I refuse to mention from here on out as he is dead to me} If they had done it RIGHT with a few changes then comic fans would agree with it, the introduction of Wolverine wasn't the same as in the comics but comic fans {generally} got on board because it was done well and showed Wolvie as a badass. Turning Wolverine into a sniveling shiteater in the 3rd is another bad point for the existence of the 3rd movie. Logan |

HAHA. I'm almost sorry I said anything. Of course, I also kind of liked Daredevil (director's cut) and didn't hate Ang Lee's Hulk. The only one I didn't care as much for was the first Fantastic Four...too little action or anything comic book-y. Iron Man could have used some more in-armor action scenes (at least one), but liked it quite a bit.
