I found the first half of this movie was outstanding. Then it pretty much died for the second half. It seems a lot of modern movies have that same exact problem. Either good first half or second half or bad first half or second half

Just watched my "blind buy" Blu-ray copy of The Hurt Locker yesterday.
What a disappointment.
I found this movie to be mediocre at best.
Dull, boring and predictable come to mind.

Then you're not invited to the "People Who Know What the Hell They're Talking About" party.

The one redeeming quality that the movie had, was the bomb detonation scene by cell phone, in chapter one.

That explosion, using slow motion, caused my room to pressurize and I could feel the shock wave it created,
roll across my room and hit me in the chest.

TOTALLY AWESOME!!!

I forgot about that scene and don't recall that happening. My sub must suck
I like this movie and it's over due for me to watch it.

It's so beneficial, to have multiple subs, in your home theater.

I have four smaller subwoofers in my HT.
It's amazing what Audyssey MultEQ XT32, with Sub EQ HT, can do with budget subwoofers.

Barely at all. She has less than a minute of screen time.

I'm really ashamed it took me so long to discover this movie. What an absolute gem! I loved it from beginning to end.

The jacked-up uniforms still bug me in this film, along with the idea of three guys driving around Iraq by themselves without a decent radio. Liked the war is addictive angle though.

Jacked up how? Desert fatigues weren't all that common when I got out of the Army ages ago.

I didn't understand them driving out to the middle of nowhere after being in Bagdad. I wasn't sure how realistic that would have been.

I thought the characters and acting were stupendous. I didn't come away with war being addictive. It seemed to me that Renner's character wasn't so much addicted as he was in trying not to think about his experiences or cope with them. I really have got to watch this again. I didn't feel I got enough out of it the first time around.

They were wearing ACUs in the film but, unit patches in the wrong place and sometimes wrong way, flag in wrong place and occasionally on both sides, sleeves rolled up, crazy interactions between different ranks, EOD unit would never operate on their own....

Yes all those and then some really bothered me. I found myself nitpicking every scene.
