I ended up going with the standard 3D cover as well. The lightning looks really cool. Might go to target next week though & see what I think of them side by side.

No comments on this? Or can we only discuss the packaging here?

Everything was fine to me. Dialogue was clear, action was dynamic. The score wasn't that bombastic, period, aside from the cue during
[Show spoiler]the Loki and Frigga death scenes.
So, it was in order with my theatrical experience.

I will try to screenshot later, but if anyone has Instagram, simply hashtag 'bluray' and quite a few 1-disc Thors will come up with a red-bordered slip.

I think they're only going to put slipcovers on the "deluxe" edition which since they took the DVD and digital copy out of the 2D, is now what they consider the 3D version. Again it was only a few dollars more so that's the one I got.
First class had a slip in it's first run. You could choose from either a Magneto or a Professor X slip. The Wal-Mart exclusive BD/DVD/DC combo for it had a different slip.

Yeah I know that I got the Magneto one. I was talking about how they also released a bare bones one disc version with barely any special features, no digital copy and no slip cover. I saw it when I was buying the Magneto one. Though searching the site it might have just been a Wal-Mart exclusive.

Thor vs Malekith was just them rolling around the majority of the time. Wasted opportunity right there.
Loki should not be giving Thor a run for his money in terms of fists to fists.
Loki has never been written as his equal there. Kurse beat Thor's ass in the books. At the end of Thor 1, you tell me that Loki can possibly fight him one on one (for the bulid-up/climax) is ridiculous. The Frost Giants confrontation is much better in terms of Thor action than the Loki(I dont wanna fight you brother) fight. Kurse at least can match Thor on a physical level, which they missed the boat w/ the Destroyer w/ that 1 minute forgettable fight.

I went to my Best Buy around 11:30 am during lunch yesterday and got burned on the Steelbook being sold out.....people are really picking this film up.

How long is it? Sorry if this has been asked/answered already I couldn't see that it had been yet.
The "Loki: God of Mischief" featurette is 6 minutes long. That being said, the Walmart Exclusive 3D edition is still the one to get if you want the most complete package in terms of video presentation and special features.

Default I missed this in the theater ....

But I'm thinking of having a Thor Trilogy screening in the garden this weekend...
That's Thor, Avengers and Dark World. I feel like most people really enjoyed this one. I hope I do, I didn't love IM3.

Picked this up as a blind but today and I actually liked it a lot. Way better than the first. A lot of the action was like lord of the rings with sci Fi, which is badass.

Not the greatest superhero movie to be made but could almost get in my top 20

No steelbooks left at our BB when I was there earlier today. I'm glad I got it on Tuesday.

I just downloaded that Disney Movies Anywhere app today. All the codes I had entered into Disney Movie Rewards had digital copies that were transferred onto the app. That's cool and all, but for some of these certain movies, I have not redeemed the codes on iTunes or Vudu yet. Therefore, Being as how this app syncs with iTunes, do you think I'll still be able to download them separately from iTunes and Vudu if I choose to? I would rather download my Thor 2 Digital copy from iTunes rather than enter the code on Disney Movie Rewards and have the app sync with iTunes. I just want to be able to still download the actual file because I save the files on my external hard drive that's why.

That user is from Thailand, so that's probably the Thai release (or another international release).

I think Disney seriously underestimated the demand for the 3d copy of the movie. I'm guessing they took a look at the sales for Iron Man 3 3d and saw that it didn't do too well. Biggest blame was the outrageous price tag, followed by a coverart that didn't look too appealing on ads (the slip had a nice feel, but can't really imply that in an ad).

With Thor 2, they went in the complete opposite way. The 3d copy looked attractive, had a digital copy when regular release did not, and was only a few bucks more. Unlike Iron Man 3, the regular release was reasonably priced as well at $19.99 at most places, so a few more bucks wasn't too bad for 3d and digital.

Amazon is out of stock, which if THEY are, means they sold a ton of them. Forget about the steelbooks, all the best buys in my area are sold out of the regular 3d release. Same with Walmart. And forget about Target, they didn't even receive their shipment in.

Either Disney didn't produce enough copies, or the retailers didn't order enough.
