For Saw I-III, the french Metropolitan releases are the best available. All 1080p, high bitrate encodes and lossless audio.

SAW I looks amazing, it's very gritty by nature but the transfer still shows tons of detail in the bathroom (dirt on the floor, tiles, mirror, etc) and to me it looks how it should.

Yeah, I was also looking at the French releases. If I'm right, the subtitles are not forced, Simon? Also not in the extras part?

When the price drops for the complete Saw collection I will buy it.

And are there two Saw III versions in France?

Directors Cut:

Directors Cut - Extreme Edition:

I also made a topic about it.

I've got the 'Extreme' version, although I'm not sure if 2 versions actually exist or whether the other is mock artwork or something.

Just be careful buying from France as their market is flooded with the Belgium release too (which is more common now than the Metropolitan). I made sure to ask before buying from ebay or amazon traders. In the end I could only find Saw II from a seller on ebay (everyone else I asked had the Belgian import), the other 2 I had to just buy direct from Amazon.fr at full price to ensure I got the correct versions.

Here are some threads I read before buying:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=182387

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=171991

As mentioned, there none have English subs (only French) but of course the audio track is in English and the subs are not forced.

Those Belgian releases are the same as the Dutch releases. Because Belgium & Netherlands are in the Benelux (see wikipedia for more info if you like)

I don't believe there are two Saw III editons in France. I will buy the complete 7 disc collection. I still have some old Saw movies on DVD and I some Dutch Blu-ray releases which aren't perfect too. Perfect moment to do it.

The Saw hunt for good editions is pretty stressful.

You beat me to it!

£29.99 is a bargain & I can't see it dropping below that price until the Christmas holidays.

I bought one as soon as I saw it was on offer & i'm now going to sell my DVD boxset, to at least make some money back

Must have put the price back up when the stock was running low! I find that a bit strange, it was advertised as a daily sale.

I sold my DVD boxset for £20 so the upgrade to Blu Ray only cost me £9.99

I just came across this thread. that box looks sweet. I wish there was someway that I can just import the empty box(not the outer slipbox but the one that holds the 7 discs). I already have all 7 movies but they take up too much space, lol

Are the subs removable on the documentaries etc too (on the French discs)?

Has anyone seen this for less than £45 recently? I've looking for, but the least I could find was £50+.
