Then they had to spend all this time "redeeming" Tony (ie, his speech to Cap's dead body and the great lengths he went to protect sensitive information from Norman Osborn in Dark Reign). Of course, if adapted to movies, they wouldn't follow the storyline exactly (and couldn't, anyway), and the Tony of the MCU acting like the Tony from the Civil War storyline would make no sense character-wise.
fixed, just incase

and I know, but I just find it interesting. I was one of the few who liked season 3.2 of Heroes too - that whole legality/political aspect of people with extreme powers just sucks me in everytime.

but thats the genius of it. It tears people apart based on their opiniond/belief's and all caused by a law - we see it around us all the time. Plus both sides and points of view are highly valid, so you end up in this odd grey area.
I admit the comic was a tad of a cop out in a way, but I still enjoyed the Marvel comic take on it after seeing the X3 and Heroes versions.

- Tony Stark, no secret identity, "works for" S.H.I.E.L.D. as part of The Avengers.
- Cap, no secret identity, "works for" S.H.I.E.L.D. as part of The Avengers.
- Thor, no secret identity, "works for" S.H.I.E.L.D. as part of The Avengers.
- Hulk, no secret identity, "works for" S.H.I.E.L.D. as part of The Avengers.
- Black Widow and Hawkeye, no secret identities and work for S.H.I.E.L.D.

Even when you factor in guys like Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Quicksilver... Ant-Man may be affiliated with S.H.I.E.L.D., Doctor Strange would go off the grid, Black Panther is an African king and thus the SRA wouldn't apply to him, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver will most likely become Avengers and "work for" S.H.I.E.L.D., and it wouldn't apply to Vision.

So there's no point to it, really. Anyone that the SRA would apply to is pretty much already signed up with S.H.I.E.L.D., eliminating the main source of conflict. Of course, there are ways to adapt the story and apply it to this specific universe (the MCU), and have it be on a smaller scale, but right now I just don't see it.
granted, at present there arent enough characters, but thats why I said, 'in a few more phases'. It could happen, but if things keep going the way there are, we're talking at least another decade or two before it should be considered.

I sincerely doubt we'll see Iron Man past Avengers 3.

Why? You mean, because it's unlikely RDJ will return... or?

Feige has already said, this will be a James Bond type thing. Someone gets too big for their boots or worn out etc they will be replaced. At first, I thought "Wow, this is gonna be a mess" but they've done pretty damn good with recasting so far. Don Cheadle and Mark Ruffalo spring to mind.

There's a hell of a lot of life left in this Marvel Cinematic Universe. A LOT!!

honestly I dont think the new MCU is ever going to end. It's going to be just like their comic universe. There will be times when it's hugely successful and I'm sure times when it's not as big, but the continuitiy will continue and grow.

Really I think that movies are now Marvel's main business. They still make comics, of course, but the majority of their revenue is coming from film.

Hopefully they keep going forever. No reason not to.

I honestly hope that it does. The recasts might be a let down here and there, but I'm a fan of them just going on for as long as they can. It's nice to know that there are plans in place beyond Phase 3.

yeah, I mean it's just like the comics. Artists and writers come and go, and some are awesome and some are big letdowns, but the story goes on.

The greatest movie franchise ever created , of course it will never end . But I could eventually see it being rebooted if Marvel ever gets the rights back of some of their major characters like Spiderman of the Fantastic Four .

they wouldn't need to reboot their universe. They would just add those characters in. But they might reboot those particular characters when they add them, rather than taking on the other studios' continuity.

If the MCU starts getting long in the tooth and they get back one of those characters I could see them hitting the reset button and starting all over again in a different reality kind of like what they did with Star Trek . A new way to refresh it all and bring in new actors and such .

They won't reboot the universe. There is no reset button for Marvel Studios. Bringing in new actors and rebooting characters they get from other studios is as far as they will go.
