Have you seen Blacula? One of my favourite horror films, can't wait for them to release the blu-ray.

Not in years and years. Blackenstein was good too! But I never took any of that stuff seriously. Maybe I just watched one too many Rudy Ray Moore movies.

They are fun to watch though. I would recommend Black Caesar if you haven't seen it, that is one to almost rival The Godfather.

I heard that this movie has never had many extras.
While not the proper, extensive doc we'd all like, the laserdisc actually had a nice behind-the-scenes feature, that I'm always surprised none of the DVDs or Blus have bothered to include.

And the Panasonic plasma discussion. Just be warned that image retention/burn-in is a problem. Have a 60 inch GT from last year. Picture is stunning. But if you watch sports and ESPN a lot the logos are a *****. BBC America too. It's really a pain in the ass to have to zoom in on your cable box all the time to avoid image retention if you leave anything like that on for a while. But it is what it is.

The pixel rotator crap is highly annoying and doesn't fix the problem

I don't know what kind of tv I'll get next time in a few years (hopefully) but due to them still not fixing this kind of stuff it probably won't be a plasma.
The 2013s are better with IR...speaking from experience. My 2011 ST30 was just like your GT, but definite improvement this year with my VT60.

It would never work. After the very first object moved all by itself, the whole family would have grabbed their stuff and moved out that very day! They don't stick around like white people do and go into the basement after the lights go out to examine that strange THUMPING sound. They take NO CHANCES at all, anything moves? THEY'RE GONE!

So true. Black people just aren't that damn curious. Plus they seem to believe its a supernatural occurances right off the bat rather than ponder "oh... Maybe this is real" right before they're about to die like most white folk do. I would actually be down for a blaxploitation version but its true, black people generally have the best reactions to getting scared. I can't imagine it NOT being funny. It's be entertaining as hell, that's for sure. Hollywood, make this happen somehow without it being a parody!

Reading all these recent posts has me wondering...

How awesome would a Tarantino written & directed ghost story be?

I'm not sure Tarantino could do a good ghost story. I love the guy but a good ghost story requires some restraint and happiness in keeping things smaller scale. I just can't see Tarantino doing it. I would love to see him do some kind of horror film one day though.

I'm not saying it would be subtle, but I have to say I'd be curious to see him tackle something outside his expected wheelhouse. Then again, it probably wouldn't be all that scary, unless he tones down his style. Maybe when he's older.

This family stayed in their home that's haunted. Note: One picture is just like Slimer which is why I say this news story.

Every Human being gets scared and I don't understand how anyone can't no matter what and I would rather be in a haunted house than no house at all. Also most haunted houses are not as bad is in horror movies are anyways.

Tarantino was involved with Hostel and has been on the fringes of other modern horror movies. I'd expect that if he was to do a Horror movie himself it'd have to be a slasher or other more realistic take on the genre, and not a Haunted House/Boogeyman styled film. I could easily see him doing something in line with "Maniac" or "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer". Those types of films (to me) just scream Tarantino.

I got it for $19.12 (including tax) with store credit on my old DVDs of Jurassic Park and The Great Escape. It costs $21.99 otherwise and my calculator said that it'd be $24.53 with tax.

Most horror movies have characters that we really don't CARE about, we normally CHEER for their death. But Poltergeist did a fantastic job of allowing us to identify with the Freeling family before all the bad things started. By the time Carol Ann was taken, ....we cared.

I have always been very fond of this film AND it's sequel. (NOT part three) Reverend Cane is ONE OF of the creepiest and scariest villians in movie history.

Part 3 is pretty cheesy I guess now, but that movie scared me badly as a young child lol. I hope we get a release soon.
