Statement from Stephen Ross:

Quote:
“I have made clear I want the stadium modernized because it’s right for our fans and it’s right for Miami-Dade and South Florida. I have decided the best way to get this done is to pay for the project with private funds. All we ask in return is that we are treated the same as all franchises in the state of Florida. A world-class city needs a world-class stadium.

We haven’t won a Super Bowl bid in Miami-Dade in far too long, and we know that with the stadium as an issue, we never will unless it is modernized. The Super Bowl Committee will have to decide if they want to compete for the next two Super Bowls so time is of the essence. It is time to move forward.

This privately funded project will create more than 4,000 local jobs. We can bring back the Super Bowl, the College Football Playoff Championship and world-class soccer matches -- and all the revenue those big events generate for the local community. I am going to make the commitment and provide the resources because Miami deserves the economic benefits of a modernized stadium.

But for me, this is about something more. I grew up here in Miami-Dade and have been part of this area for most of my life. I want to do this for the community that has done so much for me, and for this storied franchise that means so much to the people of South Florida. With this project, we can secure the future of the Dolphins in Miami-Dade for another 20 years. That is more important to me than anything else.”
Super Bowl in Miami in the near future!

Cleveland being stupid with their $$ again

Quote:
Browns agreed to terms with ILB Karlos Dansby, formerly of the Cardinals, on a four-year, $24 million contract.

The deal includes $10 million in the first year and $14 million guaranteed. The Browns are paying a hefty premium for a 32-year-old player that only garnered a one-year, $2.25 million contract a year ago, but they are getting an upgrade on D'Qwell Jackson.
Teams never learn

AND they gave Whitner 7 mill a year...

they have 15 mill in cap right now. Wilfork counts as 11 vs the cap and coming off surgery. He is going to be cut or a new deal. Sopoaga when cut will save 2.5 million

With only a few moves they can get it up to about 28 million in space. $$ will be there for them to sign really anyone they want

If they didn't have the space or ability to get space they wouldn't be putting the two together..

If they cut Wilfork, they will save 8 not 11. His cap number is 11.6 but has 3.6 in dead money, resulting in 8 in savings. So you can get about 25 in savings, but you're going to give half of that to one player? Don't forget you have to sign your picks and then you'll have to replace Wilfork with someone.

Of course, how do you think most teams win championships? Domination up front before anything else.

$25M guaranteed for Albert is a lot, we are "stuck" with him for 3 years, but like I said we were desperate and needed to overpay for a LT.

There have been reports of pats having internal discussions about revis and schefter mentioned it. So it's not like it can't happen. I know as a jets fan you don't want it to happen

It probably won't happen but they are at least talking about the idea of him here. They are going to have to shell out $$ for Talib..maybe they would rather spend a few more mill for revis..who knows.

Working guaranteed $$ and lowing his first 2 year cap hits...you wouldn't have to spend 12 mill of this years cap on him. His hit may only be 8 or what not

lmao every team has internal discussions. If they don't, they haven't done their due diligence. Talib will be about 7 per year. Revis will be almost double that. Revis cares about money. If you get into a bidding war with say the Browns, you probably won't win.

So it seems Donte Whitner is going to sign with the Browns. That makes alot of sense. From going to a Super Bowl caliber team to the Browns.

Guess money is more important than winning.

Browns seem to think you can build a winning team through FA
