True, unless TT is able to negotiate and do business with them. Not sure if Warner Brothers would be interested in the TT business model. As much as the TT business model drives some enthusiasts crazy it does make a lot of sense for some studios. Get payment upfront, no on-going accounting etc. 3 year window, 3000 units and done.

Blows my mind that About Schmidt is not on Blu.

It doesn't matter. WB doesn't work that way...AT ALL.

Weird...I just received My "All the Kings Men" today, and it is in a completely different Blu-ray case? not the Eco-cases some people are complaining about but the exact type of case that You get from the "Olive" Company Blu-rays (More square), am I the only one? at least the cheaper Case looks the same when stored on a shelf, ticks Me off that now I will have to switch Cases.

TT mentioned that they ordered the Infiniti cases from China for the rest of this year's releases.

The tentative street date for our five March titles was March 11th, but owing to some production difficulties the 5 titles, Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Garcia, Equus, Conrack, Fever Pitch, and All The King's Men will be arriving at SAE on "staggered" dates over the course of the next 2 weeks. The primary reason for the delay is our choice to go with "standard" blu-ray cases a...s opposed to "eco cases" which are proving unpopular with collectors.

As most of you know, our manufacturers, Cinram, switched all of our releases in January to eco cases without consulting us, and we insisted on returning to the standard variety. There was enough stock left at the plant to cover the February releases, but now there are none left anywhere as American manufacturers no longer want to do anything other than the "eco" version. This means we are going to be importing the sturdier "Infiniti" cases which are made in China. We are bringing in enough of these to Cinram to cover all our releases through the end of this year, but obviously at greater cost and logistical difficulty to us.

[Show spoiler]We were informed by Cinram this morning that the first delivery from China has been delayed until Monday which means the discs that remain to be packaged, at least 3 of our 5 current titles cannot be completed and shipped to SAE until the middle of next week.

We are of course sorry for the inconvenience, but this is just one of the many administrative headaches that have to be dealt with on a daily basis in order to bring our favorite films to you guys -- a little bit of patience is now required, but it will all be worth it when we finally get them in.

Thanks as always for your fantastic support,

Nick and Brian.

Thanks for the reply rdodolak! I didn't realise that was the name (Infiniti) of the Blu-ray Cases Olive Company uses. Honestly I'd prefer the Eco-cases, at least they look esthetically more pleasing on the Shelf since all the Cases (Collection) look alike. Personally I have no problem with the Eco-Cases, as long as My Items arrive undamaged I'm fine, which is "Always" since I order 4-5 items each time and they are nicely Boxed. I'm guessing more People are going to complain with these Cases, so I and others will now be the one's to suffer for it.

It just means you ordered something from Screen Archives Entertainment.

Making a deal with TT doesn't make any sense. Warner is already running their own similar business with the Archive Collection.

Got a shipping notification today for the five on-sale films I purchased Wednesday, so they are slowly getting through them.

Watched "Used Cars" for the first time this morning. It's a fun movie, Jack Warden is really good in the dual role of playing two totally different types of characters who both own dealerships. Kurt Russell is obviously great here along with one of his side-kicks who believes in all these weird superstitions, the bar scene in particular is great where he dumps the salt out of all the shakers.

Here's the thing though, this really isn't a $35 movie, it's really fun and I would watch it multiple times but throwing down $35 on it just ain't something I'd do. I can never justify buying a Twilight Time disc cause I "like" it, I really have to "love" it. That being said though, never say never I guess, I would like to hear the commentary track. Aside from the naughty side of "Flight" I've never really seen a Robert Zemeckis that was as vulgar as "Used Cars" is, some nudity too.

Also while watching this for some reason I couldn't help but think of how good Kurt Russell could've played 'Han Solo.' Twilight Time maybe a real blunder though by not using the full original poster art with the girl holding the sign and only focusing on the lemon, the Twilight Time artwork gives off a weird vibe, feels too polished.

Warner doesn't have a BD Archive program that makes any sense, so actually making a deal with TT would make some sense. Unless of course you think one title per month output is acceptable.

One title per month is what Fox and Sony give TT....

Warner licensing to TT would hardly be more than that. So WA = TT, essentially. And this doesn't count the catalog coming from regular WB release, such as Sorcerer, or Get Carter, or Tightrope, which are very TT-esque genre films.

I thought TT is releasing 5 titles per month now. If only one is from Fox and Sony each, then where are the other 3 coming from?

I guess some folks are satisfied with the status quo from Warner. I'm just not one of them.

2 are from MGM and 1 is from Protagonist Pictures (the British titles).

It has nothing to do with being satisfied; it has everything to do with being realistic about licensing expectations. Warner has licensed one film - ONE FILM - in the 17 year history of DVD and Blu-ray, which was Badlands to Criterion, and most believe that it was a unique arrangement with Malick and the Pressman-Williams production company that even made that possible.
