I love comic book men. I wish it was longer though. I wish talking dead was 45 mins instead of an hour and comic book men was 45 mins instead of half an hour. |

ABC has canceled Mind Games. I wonder if networks are going to stop buying shows created by Kyle Killen. His first show, Lone Star, was canceled after 2 episodes by Fox, his next show, Awake, lasted 13 episodes on NBC (and it only lasted that long because they had nothing better to replace it with), and now Mind Games lasted 5 episodes. Killen really needs to move to cable because his style is never going to work on network TV.

Unbelievable! Well I guess nowadays, here's to hoping someone else picks it up. I thought it was a pretty good show. |

Another cancellation by ABC, with Once Upon a Time in Wonderland ending next week as ABC is promoting the episode as a series finale. The spinoff was originally conceived as a show to take Once Upon a Time's time slot when the show went on a hiatus before ABC decided to have the show take the network's Thursday night death slot at 8:00.

Some shows are pretty obvious from the beginning whether or not they'll be cancelled. There are so many new shows that never had a chance, and Mind Games was one. Luckily I don't have much interest in the new shows and I've only lost two that I can live without. There's really only one that I really want to be renewed but I knew from the beginning it will be probably be cancelled.

I think 24: Live Another Day will snap that slump. There has been so much buzz about it and 24 has so many more fans than any of those shows. I don't want to overestimate it's ratings, but I think 24 could pull in about 9-10M viewers and definitely over 2.5 in the demos when it returns. |

With so much content at our disposal, these days, I think ratings numbers, as we've known them, don't tell the whole story. Everyone is jumping in on the original programming front, and why not: Netflix, DirecTV & Amazon, just to name a few, have had some success. Even with DVR, there is only so much time in the day. ![]() Shows that are premiering today, with low numbers, might have had much higher numbers in the past when there wasn't as much content and content providers. Once you over saturate any market, you are going to see numbers, across the board drop. Now whether shows are good, or bad, is totally matter of opinion. I'm just saying we need to bump the hours in a day from 24 to 36! ![]() |

I agree, I think there is way too much emphasis on overnight ratings. There is so much on and not everyone has the time to watch stuff the night it airs let alone live. I think the networks need to change the way they look at the viewing habits of TV viewers young and old. It used to be that there was new TV programming in the Fall and Spring and Summer was re-runs. Now programming is year round and I think people are already having a hard enough time keeping up with what they usually watch in addition to new programs that premiere. |

The time of 22 episodes in a season is over. They need to understand this. I get they need to "pay the rent", and great shows will do just that. Because of the aforementioned massive amount of viewing options, attention spans are naturally going to decrease. Then start giving shows more than 3 episodes to see if it's hit/miss. You do this enough, you are just turning off your fanbase. Lastly, created a Reality TV channel(or 50), and move all the Reality shows there. ![]() |

FXX has renewed It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia for two ten-episode seasons. This renewal would be for seasons in 2015 and 2106, as the show was already renewed for the 2014 season. The renewal will put the show into 12 seasons, a record for a live-action cable sitcom.
