I'm hoping for an Ultimate Collector's Edition. That would be amazing and I think this movie definitely deserves one.

Unfortunately Boyd Kirkland, director of "SubZero" passed away in 2011, but I'm sure WB can get their hands on the 16:9 version... if they want to

Also inlcude me to those who wants "Mask of the Phantasm" on bluray, but that movie NEEDS a major "special edition" - "anniversary" treatment not just a barebones release.

Back on topic, a new edition of Burton's Batman would be nice, but this new edition needs more than a DVD, Digital Copy in HD, and some kind of replica from the movie, it needs extras about the movie, a new documentary something like that, the old DVD/bluray already have great extras, so I'm not exactly sure what can they include, but I'm hoping they can thing in something.

What I would love to get it's a version of "Batman Forever" with the deleted scenes included in the movie.

I didn't realize that he passed away. I did get some of my facts messed up regarding SubZero's presentation. In an interview he did in 2002, he mentioned his displeasure in the film being presented in 4:3 instead of the 16:9 master with Dolby 5.1 surround that was available on laserdisc. He also mentioned that WBHV didn't even contact him for a commentary, even though he wanted to do one.

Hopefully it's a brand new disc, not just a repackage

It's most likely just going to be some new packaging.

I have the digibook version, which I like very much. New feature is not nearly enough for an upgrade.

Wow, WB really dropped the ball with this release. Just one new special feature and an uninspired box art design? I am very disappointed. Pass.

How great would it have been if we got a collector's box set like TDK trilogy or the upcoming Batman '66 series. WB could have done so much more with this release.

To be fair their original blu ray is pretty nice, and the digibook packaging is pretty sweet. It's not like they treated the movie poorly.

I don't like it at all really, especially compared to the 2009 digibook. But I do agree the original blu-ray is nice.

Looks like I'll be picking this up. Will probably hawk the steelbook off on eBay.

So with this new and underwhelming "Diamond Luxe" packaging gimmick that Warner Bros. is forcing upon us now, is it safe to say that the Warner Digibook is dead?

I wouldnt Digibooks are still very popular, and these titles that are getting the Diamond Luxe packaging allready have digibook packagings
with the exception of Gremlins and Forest Gump(which the previous release was Paramount) Why would they bother to issue a new digibook for Batman and Greenmile when they allready have excellent digibooks out their?

Especially when most people suspect the discs will end up being the same transfer and content as the digibooks.

I'm not just talking about Green Mile and NBK. I have a bad feeling that in order to save money in the future, Warner will completely nix potential digibook packaging for this cheaper diamond luxe packaging whenever they release any popular catalog title. When was the last Warner digibook to be released and are there any on the slate right now?

I wouldn't say it is as bad as you make it out to be. I was skeptical until I bought Spider-Man. It is nice to see a new packaging type that looks great, fits in with your collection reasonably, and is fairly high quality. I am liking them a lot more than I was.

Will the Canadian release be the same as the U.S. one? I've been checking Canadian sites (Amazon.ca, etc.) and there's no bilingual art (yay!) or anything.

I bought this version solely for the fact that I lent my 20th anniversary edition to someone. It sucks because they made such a big deal about this and the Diamond Luxe version of WB BDs and it has a bonus disc with ONE additional feature.
It also sucks because sometimes WB truly delivers with anniversary editions (Blade Runner) then give us bland ones like this
