Bull. He was good in "Looper". I also heard he was good in "Hostage" but haven't seen it yet.

If they do expendables 4, they should put stone cold back in it and then put the rock and vin diesel in the 4th one.

The rumors with Cage getting involved went back and forth for months. Eventually Cage himself said that he wasn't involved.

And his alleged role went to Kelsey Grammer.

The Expendables is greater in idea than execution. I wonder if a better producer than Avi Lerner could make a substantially better movie with action stars of years' past. They'd have to change the setting, maybe cops vs. robbers. Imaging a more action-oriented version of Heat with Welsey Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Michael Biehn, Donnie Yen, Chow-Yun Fat, Kurt Russell, etc.

An equal number of stars on both sides would be much better than a lead villain and his 250 henchmen who shoot blanks.

Nobody would want to be a villain because it almost guarantees they'd be dead, unless they were all arrested and wanted revenge in the next one.

I wish stone was careful on how many guys he brings in. The Expendables started out as the old washed up starts of yesteryear, now he seems intent on bringing in more modern guys. One of the only modern guys I'd bring in would be The Rock.

Seriously? Still butthurt about her stopping Tate yet AGAIN? (Not to mention what she did to McMann just a few weeks later.) As for her looks, on the Cyborg-Carano spectrum she's much closer to Carano than the Tranny. That said, I can't wait to see the Zagano fight later this year.

I'm actually surprised they didn't cast Carano and Rousey on opposite sides.

Couldn't agree more, but unfortunately Avi is the only one with the money to put into a project like this with a cast like this. If anything, Arnold's new movie Sabotage (which I saw last night) is an EXCELLENT film about a group of mercs that are like a family. Much smarter plot that keeps you guessing until the very end. Unfortunately, simply revenge stories are easier to write (and Bulgeria is cheaper to shoot than the U.S.).

Back in '94 Arnold was on Howard Stern to promote True Lies and he said he'd love to get everyone together for on big action film, and everyone would have to take "base-pay" or whatever for their salaries to keep the budget down so that it could go to a good director and quality writers. Unfortunately EX1 was basically "The Sly and Statham show", and part 2 gave Van Damme, our main villain, 10 minutes of screen-time and no back-story whatsoever. Based on the shooting schedule (I've been following it) I fear part 3 is gonna be more of the same, except with even bigger wasted opportunity, Mel Gibson.

Oh and as for equal names on both sides, I am still very pissed that Antonia Banderas and Welsey Snipes are on the good side. I was REALLY looking forward to Banderas being a funny bad guy like in Assassins, and Snipes more or less re-doing Simon Pheonix and also be funny and bad-ass, OR a "bad guy" version of Blade without the vampire stuff.

Segal talked about doing Ex3 but will only agree to it IF the part is right. It has nothing to do with money he flat out said it. He said he just don't want to be in the movie to be in the movie.
