Blu ray has better PQ then broadcast or cable. I don't think I will be trading down to a bit starved picture any time soon.

True - the hardcopy will always have better AQ and PQ. I personally like the idea mentioned in the article as a nice supplement, just like renting.

Not true as technology continues to advance there will undoubtedly be a way somehow in the future for a film to be viewed in its best video and audio capacity without having to go out and buy physical media.

It's amazing that for some, the act of stopping in the video rental store and browsing, looking at covers, reading backs, is all part of the experience. I work with people who will not use Netflix, even though economically it makes far more sense for them, because of this reason.
