Well, now I know how prestige feels, just trading in Ginger Snaps for Dracula 2k. I won't parade my liked film as high art though. I just liked it.

Isn't anyone ever going to release April Fool's Day?

If it were solely up to me, I'd probably leave Sony titles off the list.

I think Warner is holding it hostage.

If they do release it, it'll be barebones. I want that alternate ending!

Children of the Corn 2 and 7 weren't released by Echo Bridge, I'd like those at least. But I'm a fan off all of them so bring 'em on. (Assuming they got them).

Hellraiser 3 is the other that I'm clammoring for. It's by far my favorite Miramax sequel.

I do think Shout Factory struck a deal with Miramax, HOWEVER, I don't think they got a lot of them, and I know for a fact they wouldn't/didn't get the entire Echo Bridge half of the Miramax catalog. (underlined because that's my main point in this mess of a post lol)

From Dusk Till Dawn Collection would be cool, with Full Tilt Boogie and all the stops, like Amityville's set.

Personally, I think this half of the Miramax catalog will be divided up among multiple companies, possibly Anchor Bay, Shout, Lionsgate, and potentially even Mill Creek.

Lionsgate released the Blu-Ray under license from Paramount. That disc is OOP, so a rerelease is warranted, but the rights probably reverted back to Paramount.

I agree. I think they got the big ones (Rodriguez, Craven, Hellraiser 3&4, Children of the Corn 2, etc.).

... who then sent it over to Warner Brothers. Warner currently has the DVD in print, but no blu-ray.

Well I like Lake Placid, which seems to be universally bashed by the Scream Factory thread regulars, doesn't bother me in the least.

That's the good thing about opinions, none of them are right...and none of them are wrong.

Paramount owns the rights, they have a multi-year deal with Warner Bros at the moment. Therefore, Warner controls it now. It'll revert back to Paramount soon.

That's the main reason Scream Factory can't release the likes of April Fools Day and Fire In The Sky, its with Warner. They have a relationship with Paramount, but can't access those titles due to Warner Bros holding them right now.

Huge Lake Placid fan. I always thought it was a pitch perfect monster movie update.

The only way I see them doing any of the CotC sequels is if they got all 6 films from Miramax for a boxset, ala Amityville.

I'd like to see Scream get access to some of the Friday the 13th movies once the rights revert back to Paramount if possible. Several of the movies have uncut footage available (i.e. extra blood and gore) that might be able to be spliced back in the films. Most notable is Friday the 13th Part 7. There is some really good stuff cut out of that movie, but it's only available on a really bad quality VHS workprint. I wonder if Scream could clean it up a little the same way they are doing with Nightbreed.

From what I understand, the source available is from the workprint VHS. There's no way they'd be able to make it look good enough.

Isn't Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice a highly regarded sequel? It was unavailable on Home Video (not sure about VHS) prior to Echo Bridge's release on DVD, right? I think that's one at least that they may do. (I wouldn't expect 7, unless they did a box set, which I would also doubt)

I could see a From Dusk Till Dawn Trilogy set with Full Titlt Boogie included. And even a Dracula 2000 boxset, although I am not much of a fan of those. Prophecy I downright hate, so I'm more than happy sticking with my Echo Bridge set with those.

I was actually of the impression CotC II was one of the lesser regarded sequels in the series. I was of the impression that CotC IV was generally viewed as being the best sequel in the series.

I could see Scream Factory skipping the sequels and sticking with just From Dusk Till Dawn and Full Tilt Boogie as a CE.

I don't share your opinion of The Prophecy and given the star power (Walken, Madsen, Mortensen amongst others) I could see it potentially getting CE treatment or box set treatment with II and III.

Your opinion of The Prophecy closely matches my opinion of Virgin Megastore Presents Wes Craven Presents Dracula 2000.

I personally really liked 3, 4, and loved 5.

But I always though everyone else was a fan of 2?, which I must admit I very much liked. It's probably my favorite actually.

Only ever heard 1&2 regarded well.

Please excuse my Rant:

My hands-down favorite film in the entire Miramax catalog that Echo Bridge distributed was THE HOLE, with Keira Knightley and Thora Birch. That movie is almost flawless, imo. It baffels me that it is virtially unknown in the horror community because of its shotty release by Miramax. It's probably one of my top ten favorite films of all time as a matter of fact. I mean for christ's sake, Thora Birch does a mean fake British accent, and Keira Knightley gets naked. On top of a good old fashioned mystery! Its so damn good.

I'm convinced I got it released on blu-ray (bare bones though!!, and rumor is it may also be cropped?) because I begged Echo Bridge to press it. I bet I emailed them thirty times.

I'd absolutely die if Scream Factory released a swanky edition (or anyone really!) Its just such a twisted movie that deserves more recognition in the genre community.

Only probem is, I doubt they'd even touch it because there is virtually no fanbase. Its a big budget movie too, if I'm not mistaken. The weinsteins just botched the release and sent it straight to DVD at the last minute. I think it's got a sizable foreign following, probably because they actually were aware of the damn thing!!

Isn't the lost Nightbreed footage from VHS as well?
