How to set GTA4 1080P - Blu-ray Forum

on the box of GTA IV said it has 1080P resolution.
My tv XBR6 support 1080P
But I press the display info, it said 720P only

I tried to look for the setting, did not see anything, help is appreciated.

no actually the game does'nt support 1080p nor 480p

you can just play on 720p

There are threads regarding this kind of issue all over the forum. There are very select titles that actually offer 1080p. GTA4 is not one of them. Simply put, I think the pure amount of what is going on "in game" limits the graphics capability, thus putting 1080p a bit out of reach (regardless of what it says). Stay tuned for Grand Theft Auto 8: Lost in China Town for a full 1080p version of our esteemed GTA series.

and a lawsuit could be in your favor

. I just don't understand why they go through the trouble and release false advertising, they could be sued easily for this. my copy says 1080P then i believe that you should be able to set your on 1080P.

Remove the 720P option from your DISPLAY SETTINGS on the PS3

It actually up-converts to 1080p, the game runs at 720p native.

This will also work with COD4.

Don't jump the gun lol, someone a little more savy with the whole graphics technology should be able to explain why it is advertised as 1080p capable, i'm only going off of what I know.

The game upscales to 1080 pixels if your tv requires it, in other words if you don't have 720p ticked as supported in the XMB settings.

Legal action would start with you paying a lawyer to write a letter. Rock* would then either buy your game for $60 or send you $60. Case closed.

And you'd be out about $150+ for the lawyer's letter fee. Of course, you could try to collect this from Rock*, but you'd need more cash for legal fees. It's a vicious cycle.

Sorry, there's no $100 million pot of gold to be had here.

In your PS3 Display settings go to Custom & then uncheck all settings except 1080P, & then it will run GTA at 1080P
