Yeah okay. I'll go through the thread and see all the ones that weren't added. Some might have just been overlooked, so it's a good thing to do anyway.

In terms of studios not upgrading classic film nor titles, Warner is the main culprit from what I can tell. Here's my list of favorites:
1. Out of the Past (1947) 2. Asphalt Jungle (1950) 3. Mildred Pierce (1945) 4. The Letter (1940) 5. Cat People (1942) * 6. Crime Wave (1954) 7. The Bad and the Beautiful (1952) * 8. Murder, My Sweet (1944) 9. The Narrow Margin (1952) 10. The Window (1949) * not sure if classic film noir, but close enough imo. |

I'd just about sell my soul to get the RKO titles on Blu-ray.
The 1947 film noir, Out of the Past, which recently dethroned Le Samouraï as my all-time favorite movie when I rediscovered the DVD and realized how good it looks on an HDTV, is obviously the top item on my Blu-ray wishlist, but there are a great many others from the Warner Film Noir Classic Collection DVD sets. I'd love to see the Val Lewton movies upgraded as well. The Seventh Victim falls squarely into the film noir genre in my book. |

Anyone here watch the movie Jack Reacher? I saw it a few months back, and I thought a lot of it had a neo-noir feel to it. There's a lot of dialogue that feels like a throwback to detective movies from the 40's and 50's (perhaps straight from the novels), and the whole atmosphere feels very noirish too. It does have a thriller plot, I just think there's a noir feel there too. In any event, I was pleasantly surprised by it, and would say it's worth checking out.

When Warner Bros. prepared and released the original DVD in 2004, the studio created a HD master as a source. So they've been sitting on a BD-ready transfer for literally a decade without releasing it.
