Default Spearker wiring question

We are about to start some home remodeling and I have a speaker wiring issue.

I want to wire the room so the equipment can be in one of two places. The room is fairly large and so we have a fair amount of flexibility on positioning The Sony LCD , Sony Receiver, HD Rx, etc. However, the speakers will be in the same place in either case.

I am going to supply a speaker junction box and wall plate similar to this one.

So the setup will be that either wall plate 1 is used or wall plate two, but never will both be used at the same time. So how should I wire the two wall plates and boxes to the speakers? Am I correct in believing that since the signal on the speaker wires is pretty low frequency, that I could use just about any method of connection?

For easier connection from speaker to wall plate you should use banana plugs they are much easier to handle.

That is not the connection I am asking about though...

I am asking about the connection from the back of the wall plate in the wall, to the speakers and in my case, I will have two different wall plates wired to one set of speakers.

You can install the jack plates so that one plate connects to the other plate then to the speakers. The only problem is while playing through on one plate the other will have a signal on it. If anything conductive touches the wall plate not in use it will short out the receiver. They make switches that would be a wiser choice although more money.

The way everything will be arranged, this should not happen ... but then you are raising a good point I need to consider. This is a 7.1 speaker setup. Can you direct me to a switch that will handle this?

I've been looking and can not find anything yet that fits your needs. I'm sure there has to be something out there.
