The XBR 5's did not have the same issues..
The Samsung you mention is far and away better than the original XBR4 set you had but other than the LED back light I feel the XBR5's still offer a better overall picture... JMO

I sell both Sony and Samsung. We have both sets mentioned on display and they are both good preformers for the price. I would suggest you also look at and consider the new panasonic TC32LZ800.
