wire hookup - Blu-ray Forum

Quick question, most likely stupid. But isn't a digital coax cable the same as a component cable?? I need an extra woofer cable to hookup boht my subs and had an extra component lying around. Wondered if I could use that.

Are you referring to cable television cable as "digital coax"?

If so, the answer is no. It's not the same.

no, I was talking about the rca style cable that plugs into the back of a subwoofer to the reciever.

Component cables can carry HDTV "video signals". Are you using a cable like this?

You should be able to use one of the three cables for Digital Audio. The specs are very similar. Here is a good technical description of a digital audio cable
