Default Plasma l Pioneer Elite Pro FHD1 & Panasonic 850 Series

Hello

Some Thoughts l If the Panasonic is not either the 800 Series or 850 Series [Preferred], then the Pioneer Elite would be the better choice, although if I understand that model that you mentioned, it is not the highly preferred Kuro.

Regarding Burn In l Do not allow this to concern you; simply properly manage the Black Level & White Level, and everything will be alright; assuming that you do not either play games or watch with lighting in the room, which changes everything, and you might be better off with LCD, loosing significant picture quality.

My Regards

Then you need to educate yourself about the current plasma situation. Except for really abused sets, burn in is not an issue!

I have to agree with others, this should be a non-issue. Get the pioneer, it's a no-brainer. I hope to god that you don't sell TVs there....

god. 65 bucks. haha.

i had my buddy who worked at best buy pick up just about everything in my sig. with his discount.

since then, though, he has moved on from best buy and im really missing that 5% or 10% above cost discount. haha.

but all in all. pioneer all the way dude. im not a HUGE gamer, but i definitly play my fair share of first person shooters and other games on my pio plasma. as long as you arent dumb about it, like leaving the planet earth menu on for hours on end after falling asleep on it or something like i saw at one magnloia on a 70some inch plasma, you'll be fine.

if i had that best buy discount again, id be jumping all over the new pioneer plasmas.

all....over

The PRO-FHD1 is not as good as the -7 or -8 series from Panasonic.
It's an OLD TV and it was excellent in its reign, but that time has passed.

The TH-50PZ750 placed side by side with the Pioneer PRO-FHD1 made for an interesting comparison. How did the Panasonic’s image look? In a word: WOW. The overall picture quality excelled in reproducing dark and bright level details with a high contrast ratio.

The TH-50PZ750’s color accuracy was the best I have seen on a plasma display and it was the only panel evaluated that produces a true red. Comparing the Pioneer when viewing The Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift on HD DVD clearly showed the difference between Panasonic red and Pioneer red. The same car is red on the TH-50PZ750 and orange on the Pioneer. Ditto for the neon signs and lights of the Ginza in Tokyo at night, where red lights appear crimson versus Pioneer’s orange-y reds. Speaking of night scenes, the Panasonic’s deeper blacks revealed details that the Pioneer (and other plasmas) obscured, as if a veil had been lifted off the Pioneer’s panel.
Go with a -7 or -8 series Panasonic or one of the Pioneer KURO's.
All are better than the PRO-FHD1.

Agreed. Only good Pioneer is the Kuro. Next best is Panasonic hands down. Pioneers cost to quality ratio is too high for what your paying for.

Panasonic is where it's at!

this is a joke right? you should be fired for asking that question. The PRO FHD-1 is the best television made, period.
