I have to disagree with this one. I think Starship Troopers was one of the best cast movies ever. That assumes, of course, that you know the intention of the director and the casting director. They cast this movie with, shall we call them B-class, actors on purpose to get the exact feel that you got, namely that it was badly cast. In other words, it was cast to look like it was badly cast, and therefore the casting was great.

NM the when does it get here thing. IT'S HERE AND IM PSYCED!!! First off my first impressions being in the United States, is the quality and thickness and strength of the packaging, rather the bluray case it came in, is actually bluray dimensions but thicker such as a standard dvd case, much more protection for the disk, which i think is key to this format and its longevity. I was a little disappointed to see that the DTS tho was only in french and spanish, however there is PCM and dolby digital in english, and it's 16X9 1080p which of course is outstanding. I have yet to watch it but am about to do just that, so I will post my impressions, and playability on the US region playstation 3 for reference for those that are interested.

Default Starship Troopers announced for 8/5

I tried searching and didn't see this. It's from the same site that the person referenced regarding Beetlejuice being released.

I would imagine we'll hear about this and Beetlejuice from US news outlets tomorrow since it's Memorial Day here. I didn't think I'd hear anything new today because of that--way to go UK!

Is this release going to be better than the UK's? Not sure if I should ditch it or hang on to it.

Same question here.
The UK version is absolutly outstanding!
Lots of extras, 5.1 PCM sound (engl.) and excellent picture.
Perhaps only a re-release?

Oh, have look here

I think this site announced this back in April and gave a July 29 date.

if it's a fairly significant upgrade in terms of Video I'll double dip if I can find it on sale (all sony titles seem to make a sale sooner or later). But the UK import has a PCM track while sony will put on a TruHD track.
