Haha too true, which one was plazman, or should I say boseman?

I can't decide if that was one of my favorite comments or MS employee nataraj's referring to BD supporters as "terrorists."

I believe you shouldnt speak of something you know nothing about.

I make the same on all products I sell.

Any questions?

Now while this other system might not be able to control 15 zones, it will produce better sound, have a more complete frequency range, support HDMI and the latest audio codecs, better upscaling, more power, etc.

Now if controlling 15 separate zones is more important to you then the other things I mentioned, then Bose would be your best choice.

Meant to add - Monster cables are extremely overpriced and should always be avoided, and I have no idea why there is so much love on this site (and only this site) for Klipsch. I would guess because this site is more geared to those just getting into AV (younger crowd) as compared to more dedicate AV sites.
Exactly my point. The uses are there for the product, they arent numerous, but they are there.

^^ I forgot who it is around here that has this mass factual ownage in their sig, but I thank them for it.

Good luck to any Bose apologist that can refute any of that with anything concrete and meaningful.

Here's a hint: You can't do it.

Unquestionably, Bose has to be an all time great when it comes to marketing and having people believe it. From there, they also have to be all time greats in making an insane profit on their products thanks to the above phenomenon.

If I ever start my campaign for world dictatorship, the folks out of Bose's marketing arm will most certainly be part of my propoganda Cabinet. From there, I'll have some of their people also in my financial department so I can learn their profit tricks off of the marketing.

They can run my tax system.

To be fair, Bose does make some nice products at times...they simply cost WAY more than they should.
Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner.

The only time I have defended a Bose price is my distributed audio example.

95% of what Bose sells is overpriced. Which is why I typically sell only that particular system, if it fits my customer's needs.

Hollywood video is trying to sell "damage protection insurance" on their RENTALS! I say if people are going to be dumb enough to buy it, why not make money from them!

I think if I were to retire, and get one of those "jobs to keep you busy" kinda things, where I didn't really need the money, .... I'd want to sell cars, because I enjoy cars..... I don't think I could talk a single mom with 4 kids into a Sporty-2-seater when she shows up looking at used mini-vans.....

but if I did it as my primary job, and I needed to pay the bills, the car for her, would be the one that fills my pockets the most at the end of the day

Sure, whatever makes you feel better. Since you know so much about my pay, care to tell everyone what % of my overall sales is Bose related?

While I don't necessarily disagree, like I said, some of my vendors occasionally run SPIF programs (sell a TV, get $100 from the manufacturer, etc). But that is rarely the norm. I actually get the same % on any product, and then a bit higher % if I hit certain numbers.

People here are just often short-sighted extremists that can only comprehend 2 things.

1. All
2. Nothing

There can be no middle ground. If someone says that there is a need for something in the marketplace (and the extremists don't think there is), that person automatically has an agenda (ie: higher income, works for the company), and thinks that the product is "the cat's pajamas" (ie: the best there is).

Which of course couldn't be further from the truth.

Another great example is if a company isn't necessarily good at one thing, that makes them bad at everything else.

Which of course, is also completely untrue.

The fundamental flaw is that many of these "extreme" opinions are based solely on what they have read, with 0 real-world knowledge.

It is what it is though Beta. Different strokes for different folks.
