You just admitted you have ZERO knowledge (post#301) of what one of the two sides the parallel is , so you've proved YOURSELF to be ridiculous here as if you don't know what one side is, you have no basis on which to make your conclusion.

Great job. You just pwned yourself.

PS - this is about the third or fourth time you've said you're done.

Is there anyway we can get some MODS to clean up this thread so we can still use it for relevent information?

so Just Woody's posts meandered off? Either way, people should be able to read the info themselves, and it at least gives people a reason to do some comparative listening.

Umm, if you would have waited for just a moment...........

The info has simply been moved into this off topic discussion, not deleted or moved to the FUD/Spam dump section of the site.

There is no censorship going on here.

There is also no reason to include BOSE in comparative listening, unless it's to prove to yourself why you shouldn't have included them in the comparative listening.

My parents have 8 bose speakers they got in '91 and they still sound incredible on their 7.1 sony system. And my dad's wave radio is freaking amazing.

I think they're stuff is overpriced, but still.

I was saying that this thread, would lead people, who would otherwise simply "blind buy" a bose system, to do some comparative listening.......

And show me all of that with the aesthetics of the Bose system, and that costs no more than $2000.

Obviously that isnt important to you. But believe it or not, you arent the only consumer on earth. And the people who do need this type of system are not "common fools"
Not sure if this has been answered yet, but you can easily put together a system that will meet most those needs (except maybe the HD and diff zones) for $2000.

Now while this other system might not be able to control 15 zones, it will produce better sound, have a more complete frequency range, support HDMI and the latest audio codecs, better upscaling, more power, etc.

Now if controlling 15 separate zones is more important to you then the other things I mentioned, then Bose would be your best choice.

Meant to add - Monster cables are extremely overpriced and should always be avoided, and I have no idea why there is so much love on this site (and only this site) for Klipsch. I would guess because this site is more geared to those just getting into AV (younger crowd) as compared to more dedicate AV sites.

I believe the bottom line in this is simple

Woody believes that Bose has a place in home theater because he either makes a gigantic margin on them, or gets a gigantic commission check from them from someone else who markes the big margin. I know when my brother worked for Sears, the bounty was about $4-500 on a $2000 Bose system compared to maybe $60-70 on a $1500 computer.

^^ I forgot who it is around here that has this mass factual ownage in their sig, but I thank them for it.

Good luck to any Bose apologist that can refute any of that with anything concrete and meaningful.

Here's a hint: You can't do it.

Unquestionably, Bose has to be an all time great when it comes to marketing and having people believe it. From there, they also have to be all time greats in making an insane profit on their products thanks to the above phenomenon.

If I ever start my campaign for world dictatorship, the folks out of Bose's marketing arm will most certainly be part of my propoganda Cabinet. From there, I'll have some of their people also in my financial department so I can learn their profit tricks off of the marketing.

They can run my tax system.

To be fair, Bose does make some nice products at times...they simply cost WAY more than they should.

Don't Bose just skip 20% of the audible spectrum?

Why are people defending this company?

At least one of the following:

1.) Affiliated with Bose

and/or

2.) Sells Bose

and/or

3.)Ijustboughtcrapitis

^^ I think that term was coined in some Bose expose thread on AVS or some place like that several years back and for good reason.
