This was an interesting year when it comes to movies, for me anyway. For Christmas 1983, the family got our first VCR. Movie watching would never be the same again. My top ten favorites of that year:

1. The Terminator
2. Blood Simple
3. Beverly Hills Cop
4. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
5. Ghostbusters
6. Broadway Danny Rose
7. Body Double
8. A Nightmare on Elm Street
9. Romancing The Stone
10. All Of Me

I really liked Amadeus back in the day but I recently watch the extended cut Blu-ray and thought it was just okay. I suspect the theatrical cut is much better. Anyway, an honorable mention..I always got a kick out of The Woman In Red..

Guilty pleasures-Runaway, Star Trek III and Conan The Destroyer.

Films I remember seeing in the theatre: (Still didn't have a car, so many times I had to "con" my way to the theatre!)

All of Me
Beverly Hills Cop
Ghostbusters
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
City Heat
Romancing The Stone
Runaway
Star Trek III
Tightrope

The year's biggest disappointment: The teaming of Burt Reynolds and Clint Eastwood in City Heat.

Here's an attempt at 30. I probably forgot some.

OUATIA also has the distinction of being my #2 of the 80s as a whole, and my #7 all time.

The Terminator
Body Double
Miami Vice
Tightrope
Silent Night, Deadly Night
Savage Streets
Blood Simple
The Hit
Crimes of Passion
Friday the 13th IV: The Final Chapter
Fear City
Beverly Hills Cop
The Evil That Men Do
The Ambassador
The Element of Crime
The Bounty
Dune
A Nightmare on Elm Street
The Cotton Club
City Heat
Angel
The Killing Fields
Under the Volcano
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Broadway Dany Rose
Ghostbusters
Racing With The Moon
Police Academy
Birdy

How funny you should say that as my family got our first VCR in 1983 and i got my own in 85.

Yes City heat was disappointing to me too and my other disappointments from that year were Dune, Exterminator 2, Rocktober Blood, Sheena (at least Tanya Roberts was hot in it) and Supergirl (At least Helen Slater was hot).

I wasn't conceived sadly until '86 lol, but I love the 80's for it's music (most of it) and now classic movies that came from that era.
