The only income they have is from the Spike TV deal there about to lose

They make such horrible business decisions. Hulk Hogan , Flair, Sting, Nash, Bishoff. Dixie is blowing all her fathers money out the window.
The only good thing going now if the reformation of the Beautiful People. How can you not love watching Velvet and Angelina "wrestle" ?

TNA had its chance with courting Paul Heyman to come in and take over complete control (sans finances)....when they vanished as an option, things descended into madness....

Not too sure how much guys like Hulk and Sting were getting paid but I remember that Heyman asked for $10 mil for a five year contract

Seems steep but if it helped to turn around TNA and make a profit then it's just a drop in the ocean compared to the revenue they'd be making

TNA is dying a slow and painful death. The TV product is getting worse and the talent is leaving. WWE would be smart to relaunch ECW only this time run it the right way. Put it on a cable network at 11 pm Sat nights. Have it be old school extreme. Keep it separate from WWE product completely.
Could you imagine the type of show Heyman could come up with if he had full WWE backing. WWE Raw would be for the kiddies and ECW Late Night would be for the old school extreme fans.
I want to see something else to watch other than Tna. This is the reason WWE has lost a ton of its older male audience. They grew up WWF/E fans but now they are bigtime UFC fans.

Now would be the perfect time to relaunch a proper ECW for the WWE Network.

Later on, Paul Heyman, said he did that to guage how serious they were and there current situation. They never countered or played hardball on getting him in. They stopped talking to him altogether after that...TNA was starting to throw money around and Spike was joining in on that. Sting, was allegedly getting between 500-750k for the year. Angle was close to a mil....Not sure about Hogan, but considering his ego..... he probably was double the highest paid guy on the roster plus his daughter got a job there.... Bisch, no one really speculated about his deal....most likely because he was involved in several different facets.

Bottom line....Paul would be front and center of bailing them out. He'd have to face responsibility on the success or failure of the product. He'd be involved in a dozen different areas. Personally, I'd have countered with 6.5 mill with incentives and ownership stake in the company and gone from there in negotiation. He would have been worth it regardless. He's not perfect, but he has the right mind for booking and developing characters.

I was a tiny bit wrong on my statement above it was more like this..

Quote:
He stated he would want a "Dana White deal" where he owned 10% of the company and thus, if he was successful, he'd make $25 million - $30 million off an IPO and be set for life.
I got the 10 part right but it was 4 years ago so I forgot

Agreed...but he'd still use older guys here and there. Hell, his use of Terry Funk gave Funk a second wind and options with the big companies again who had thought he was out of gas and stranded. Heyman booking Sting would be genius! He'd make the most of a limited dates for a year type schedule. As long as the older gen was used properly and sporadic at best, Heyman would do wonders for any organization. He's gotten smart when it comes to WWE. On Austin's podcast, he basically keeps to himself about angles unless a talent asks him specifically or he's involved in an angle himself. He stays away from creative cause of how things are...saves him stress!

As long as he continues to get plenty of mic time I'll make do with that

When Heyman did have the full WWE backing with their ECW rebrand, he put together a super short PPV and lost their support.

At that time, he did NOT have their full backing.... Heyman "had" a solid card based on the limited resources and freedom he had. Vince and creative took over and shoddily crapped over Heyman's script. Heyman's on record saying that while his script may or may not have worked, they tore up his script and we saw Vince's vision of ECW from that point forward.....shortly thereafter he was gone. The only time he had full backing for the new ECW was the very first One Night Stand PPV. He lost more and more freedom each program that developed...

There is major concern backstage in TNA right now about the financial future of the company.

At this past week’s TNA Impact Wrestling tapings from Orlando, members of the production staff were going to walk out in the middle of the tapings due to the company being behind on paying them. TNA caught wind of the situation and immediately cut checks to the production staff to cool them off.

There was a lot of tension behind the scenes last week, with money being tighter than it ever has been.

TNA has been cutting talent since last summer, with Frankie Kazarian being the latest casualty. He is no longer with the company because TNA did not want to (or could not) continue paying him what he was making.

Instead of keeping veterans like Kazarian and Daniels on board, TNA will be signing younger talent that will work for half of what Kazarian was making.
