They make such horrible business decisions. Hulk Hogan , Flair, Sting, Nash, Bishoff. Dixie is blowing all her fathers money out the window.
The only good thing going now if the reformation of the Beautiful People. How can you not love watching Velvet and Angelina "wrestle" ? |

Not too sure how much guys like Hulk and Sting were getting paid but I remember that Heyman asked for $10 mil for a five year contract

Seems steep but if it helped to turn around TNA and make a profit then it's just a drop in the ocean compared to the revenue they'd be making

TNA is dying a slow and painful death. The TV product is getting worse and the talent is leaving. WWE would be smart to relaunch ECW only this time run it the right way. Put it on a cable network at 11 pm Sat nights. Have it be old school extreme. Keep it separate from WWE product completely.
Could you imagine the type of show Heyman could come up with if he had full WWE backing. WWE Raw would be for the kiddies and ECW Late Night would be for the old school extreme fans. I want to see something else to watch other than Tna. This is the reason WWE has lost a ton of its older male audience. They grew up WWF/E fans but now they are bigtime UFC fans. |

Now would be the perfect time to relaunch a proper ECW for the WWE Network.

Bottom line....Paul would be front and center of bailing them out. He'd have to face responsibility on the success or failure of the product. He'd be involved in a dozen different areas. Personally, I'd have countered with 6.5 mill with incentives and ownership stake in the company and gone from there in negotiation. He would have been worth it regardless. He's not perfect, but he has the right mind for booking and developing characters. Last edited by Talyn; 05-12-2014 at 03:42 PM. |

![]() Full article is here http://z3.invisionfree.com/pcwaction/ar/t1103.htm It's a shame they didn't bring him in. I love Sting and Angle etc but give me Heyman and a bunch of young guys anyday |

Agreed...but he'd still use older guys here and there. Hell, his use of Terry Funk gave Funk a second wind and options with the big companies again who had thought he was out of gas and stranded. Heyman booking Sting would be genius! He'd make the most of a limited dates for a year type schedule. As long as the older gen was used properly and sporadic at best, Heyman would do wonders for any organization. He's gotten smart when it comes to WWE. On Austin's podcast, he basically keeps to himself about angles unless a talent asks him specifically or he's involved in an angle himself. He stays away from creative cause of how things are...saves him stress!

At that time, he did NOT have their full backing.... Heyman "had" a solid card based on the limited resources and freedom he had. Vince and creative took over and shoddily crapped over Heyman's script. Heyman's on record saying that while his script may or may not have worked, they tore up his script and we saw Vince's vision of ECW from that point forward.....shortly thereafter he was gone. The only time he had full backing for the new ECW was the very first One Night Stand PPV. He lost more and more freedom each program that developed...
