Default Best Buy Wouldn't Honor Circuit City Price Match

Apparently the rumors of circuit city filing for bankruptcy has Best Buy watching closely. CC has a TON of bluray on sale for $19.99. BB refused to match that price with Shooter because they have it listed for $34.99 and they said they couldn't sell it under their cost. Bullshit!!!! They were all on the radio's...."Are we still price matching Circuit City?. They are still but they are watching Circuit City's prices carefully.... because of possible clearance sales. I say they screwed me by NOT honoring their policy! Anyway, keep an eye out on CC..... prices may fall shortly. I just went there and paid the 19.99 for Shooter....and a few others.

Technically BB doesn't have to match anything if it is not listed in print via an ad. The policy states that it has to be an advertised price. BB a lot of the time will make exceptions to this rule but they don't have to match it if it's not in CC ad.

But I always buy an item at CC knowing it is cheaper locally somewhere else and then go to the customer service counter, that way they will match 110% of the difference. Also BB will do the same if only purchased at a BB or BB.com.

yeah and unless you can find it online/in an ad I doubt most stores would honor it on your word / cell phone pic ... If you had brought them an ad and they still didnt honor it i'd have said BIG TIME Bs

They should...they are supposed to since it is in writing...

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....60&id=cat12098

Whoops I just re-read my post. I should have specified for BB it is same company purchase and CC is competitor's. Sorry for the confusion and lack of clarification...

Just go to CC if you have one nearby, which you most likely do. Around here, all BB and CC stores are very close to each other.

CC is going bankrupt? Dear dear. Kinda liked that place. I live in the UK now so not a problem.

BB is talking ass as well though. Although its RRP is $35 most places sell it much less than that. On the region coding website there is an axel-music advert selling it for £12.42 or so, thats $23 and thats imported price to the UK.

BB must buy 100,000 copies so I would expect them to make a killing on $35 retail. In the old DVD days I went to a distributor for prices and a DVD that sold for $14 was about $8 to me.

I despise Best Buy. I NEVER buy anything from them. Go elsewhere. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll go out of business.

Believe it or not, when companies go out of business, their employees actually can sometimes find other jobs

It depends on which one you go too and who is working most of the time.

I love the selection I can get from best buy, usually in stock, but their prices are ridiculous compared to amazon etc.

as far as Circuit City goes, they are good for open box buys but the selections on any type of merchandise wether it be cd's, dvd, blu's is always VERY lacking.

I also can't speak for other CC's but here in the Northern VA, DC area, I have had nothing but the very worst customer service I have ever experienced. waiting forever for someone to help, standing in lines where cashiers disappear for 10 minutes at a time, and waiting for price matches, price checks and return service for 30 minutes at a time. I wish I was making these numbers up.

I stopped going there about a year ago because of it.

Umm you should call or email Best Buy Customer Service Relation. They issued me $10 Giftcard by mail, because some b*tch doesn't want to honor Frys Pricematch during National Treasure 1&2 sale.

Instead of ranting you could've alerted us in the Hot Deals section and we'd've been much more happy.

I'll have to pass by Circuit City on the way home. I'm fortunate to have Costo, Circuit City, Best Buy and Target all on the way to work. The first three are walking distance from each other, though Best Buy is on the other side of the freeway.

You should call corporate. Their policy is "local competitors". if you have a CC within 20 miles, policy is to match their advertised prices

Thanks Wicky..... YOU understand. We have tools on the site like CassilineKnight.... that apparently like taking it deep and they also must be blind and can't see the 20 foot tall price match policy printed on the store walls.
