They couldn't spend the time or money to fix the lightsabers because they had to add rocks and make the Ewok blink.

Couldn't disagree with you more on this! I've been a life long fan and even found some enjoyment in the prequels, so for me this is probably the most exciting current movie news that I can possibly think of (other than somehow making Harrison Ford 40 again & making a new Indy movie ).
I can definitely see why you would at least be hesitant given the hatred alot of folks have for the prequels. But with this being in J.J. Abrams (who is one my favorite working directors) hands, I personally have 100% confidence he will meet my extremely high expectations.

If you just sit back and watch the damn movie, it's all good. Even The Phantom Menace looks stunning to me. Aside from literally a handful of shots that were obviously softened for the 3D release, whose transfer this BD disc uses as its source, the film looks stunning, colorful, and highly detailed.
Exactly. What do people think this is? A website dedicated to Blu-ray enthusiasts and videophiles who might actually care about that "kind of stuff?" The nerve!

I know it's just me, but I really miss George Lucas.

I do enjoy J.J.'s films a lot and have great confidence in him, but to me it's not the same without George Lucas, the mastermind of it all.
Until now, I don't feel any excitement at all concerning the new films.
I bet my bottom dollar that the first trailer will cause tremendous attention all over the galaxy.

Just finished watching ANH, and it's still as magical as it used to be, and so funny too.
Has the flying creature in the sky above Obi Wan's abode always been there (in the first shot of it)?
Same goes for the flying creature in the background when Luke is selling his speeder? I don't think I had ever noticed those before.

Nice touch! Gotta love JJ--he's always struck me as a fan first and a filmmaker second.

"The prequels are great, just as good as the original films, and all of the bluray transfers are great too. Everything is great. Signed, Kryptonic."

Don't like any of JJ's movies, but he's doing everything right here. Bravo to him so far.

I will be fine if the the screen credit goes 'Story by George Lucas' and 'Screenplay by JJ Abrams & Lawrence Kasdan' which I think it will.

This statement would make much more sense to me if you had made it AFTER watching Episode 7. However since we haven't it seen yet, what exactly are you "missing" about George Lucas? What exactly is there to miss? Besides, don't act like Lucas has ZERO involvement in this production. He has made himself available in a consulting role on the film. I'm sure his input is still highly valued by Abrams and he will carry at least some influence on the films.

I can't even imagine how awful this movie would have to be to make me miss George Lucas.

Oh, yeah, I can just imaging the "complaints" afterwards.

Man, I really miss how George Lucas never directed the actors so when they read their lines they didn't have a single bit of nuance to them and they sounded like someone reading from a phone book.

Man, I can't believe they didn't use the word "Youngling" once in Episode VII. WTF!

Man, where's all the scenes with people casually walking around and talking?! This movie sucks!
