Sony STR-DG2100

Hey Crack Buddy, Pal ( or anyone else !!! )

Trying to get the TRU-HD light to light up on new receiver
setup..

PS-3 HDMI to Receiver ( BITSTREAM )
DirecTV HD-21 to Receiver HDMI
HDMI to Sony LCD

everything works but only get " Multi-Channel " on receiver
the HD lights never come on

ideas ???

Is it true that in order to upconvert the signal from 720p (1080i) that we need
to connect the HD-21 via Componet and optical ??? that the HDMI will only pass and not convert ??

The PS3 can't bitstream True HD or DTS-HD codecs

It's what I use, I've been very happy with it. I use it to drive some pretty big speakers (four of these, along with some other neat toys):

Despite what I hear a lot of people say, the power handling is fine, and the sound is excellent. It's a big upgrade from the Onkyo that I used to have, and gave away to my sister. It's the best receiver I've ever used.

Geary, the manual says it will upconvert through the HDMI channel, but I haven't tried it. Don't know why that should matter, the PS3 will handle that upconversion for you.

just installed this bad boy and I am getting ready to calibrate this bad boy. I also found out if the AV has a serial number starting with 88 it has the current firmware installed.
