Love Session 9. Very creepy and underrated flick. This need a blu release. I was hoping Scream! would have got it since it 's a Universal release.

Session 9 is one of those movies that appears on basically every single list of somewhat recent "underrated horror movies" and "horror movies you might not have heard of!" and that kind of thing. It's reaching the point where it's getting more praise than it deserves, which is sort of unusual with these kinds of things, The Wicker Man is another example (it's good, but somehow it constantly ends up on short lists of best horror movies ever made at a ridiculous rate, and almost all of them talk about how it's obscure and/or underrated!). I was not at all impressed the first time I watched it, the ridiculous deus ex machina in it is one of the worst I've ever seen. I'm not really sure where its rep comes from, but yeah, it's most definitely not a forgotten movie, I've been hearing way too much about it since it first came out on video. It's in much the same camp as say, Ginger Snaps (but I actually love that one ), only I hear about Session 9 considerably more than that one.

I can't believe this Vincent Price collection doesn't have Theater of Blood, that's the movie I most missed from the first collection and it was one of the few that Arrow's bothered to put out so far. I think I'll just have to get their release of it once it goes down in price a bit (it was too new to be part of their current sale, apparently). I'm very surprised by the inclusion of two of the basically public domain ones (Last Man on Earth/House on Haunted Hill). They're both definitely minor classics and fun to watch, but they became so ubiquitous in the budget DVD section that I figured they might be overlooked in a collection like this. This does bode well for volume 3 being good, as people have said - and it also does bode well for the inclusion of "The Tingler" which is my favorite of those William Castle gimmick movies.

Coincidentally I just rented a Vincent Price movie yesterday which I'd never heard of before, called "Offspring" which I guess is some kind of anthology movie from the late 80s. I am looking forward to it.

I only say it's underrated because of people I know that have seen or I told them to see it didn't like it or didn't understand it. Maybe I'm using "underrated" wrong or something.

I saw a delicious post by a member of the SF FB page who suggested Curse of the Fly get a blu ray release with the Alligator People, and then went on to say to include Hand of Death and SpaceMaster X7 ... these are all with Fox - I would be all for this set - now that we know Shout Factory does license black and white films

My favorite of the Corman-Poe/Price films is easily Tomb of Ligeia. I'm so excited for this set.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter, but my OCD is a little bothered that House on Haunted Hill, Return of the Fly, and Last Man on Earth won't be with their respective franchises on my self.

Hey Guys, I had an awesome time last night with the Scream Drive-In, it was fantastic you all should come and comment with us. Also I have reopened the Wish List Poll, with all the unexpected movies that Scream has announced I've decided to reopen the wish list Poll, the other Poll will still be used for titles Scream can actually get, but this will be for fun and shits and giggles, I do hope you all like it.

I really wish SF did Child's Play 2 and 3 instead of Universal. I am interested in commentaries and TV footage including the alternate ending for CP2. Apparently there's an alternate opening too for CP2 according to a post on imdb.com where Chucky's burned remains are picked up at Andy's apartment. Now that Universal released them on blu ray, there probably won't be another release let alone special editions until the next format comes out.

It seems that many people want them to continue to do Universal titles, myself included, but the fact of the matter is that many will b!tch about it not looking great, when they realize that Shout works with what they are given, and Universal gives them crap transfers.

Frankly, I am not picky. As long as it gets out there.

Deadly Eyes & Ginger Snaps (Amazon) preorder (non-Prime): $61.19

Same order thru Blowitoutahere (with Father's Day discount applied): $33.72

A nearly $28 difference!. Even without a discount that's a lot of money saved. With the Warner blackout and these inflated prices for cult titles I'm finally done with Amazon.

I'm very glad that a second Vincent Price set is coming out. At first I wasn't completely sold on another set of Mr. Price, but when I saw it contained House on Haunted Hill and Last Man on Earth, this set became an instant purchase for me. I'm ecstatic over the inclusion of those two titles.

Besides the Vincent Price sets, what box sets would you like to see Scream put together for future release?

A Phantasm set would be a no-brainer for sure.

I feel the same way about the new VP set. Firstly, as I mentioned previously I'm not a big Vincent Price fan (shame on me, I know) but I've been watching some of his films and have mostly enjoyed what I've seen so far. I am familiar, though, with Last Man on Earth (love it) and have heard good things about HoHH and Tomb of Legeia. I guess I'm just into the Poe stuff as much as most folks here so this is why I'm liking this announcement more than I should.

As for potential future box sets I'd like to see sets for the Children of the Corn and Hellraiser sequels that were distributed by Miramax. And maybe, just maybe, the rest of the Howlings

Vincent Price was not in Curse of the Fly
However you could switch it with another Fox part Noir called Shock where he plays a mad doctor...it was his first starring role

This is my want for sure, but I fear it would be a much more difficult task then the Halloween set was. As far as Vincent Price, just keep releasing sets until all of his films are released. The man is, was, and forever will be a horror legend and deserves to have all of his work released.
