What it boils down to unfortunately is that blu ray has not done what it was expected to do. You figure by 2003/2004 every household had a dvd player. Now, we're 8 years into blu rays life and people could simply care less. DVD is good enough still for most people. How do we expect to get any better than blu ray when the majority of people still arent buying blu ray? Its a shame really!! You can get a blu ray player these days on the friggin' cheap from Wal-Mart for like 60 bucks. That 60 bucks gets you 5 to 6 times the pixels of DVD, which in turn gives you a better home viewing experience. The best ever as a matter of fact. As good as the theater!!! I figured by now that blu ray would be kicking the crap out of DVD and its just not. That's why there wont be another optical format.
