Help? Why should I upgrade my existing DVDs to Blu-ray...MY SETUP

i used to do all my installs and equipment, but do to rapid changes and building the room just for this, i let the installers do it, and i do not know my system well, because honestly i switch it out every 6-8 months LOL, which is crazy

anyhow, i can assure you that ps3 and pj says 1080p, so not sure, sound is different never gotten anything but 5.1 DD, if upscale scales up to 1080, why would there be a big difference especially in new movies like sp2 sp3
