In this order...

1.) Jaws-scared the crap out of me as a kid! Left an indellible impression! My love for scary films was spawned from this and Halloween.

2.) Raiders of the Lost Ark - Tapped into every childhood imagination I had! Only Star Wars captured my attention more as a child.

3.) Saving Private Ryan - I've never fought in a war but I imagine that the opening Normandy battle in this film is about as close as I am ever going to come to knowing what it must've been like to be there without actually being there!

4.) Jurassic Park - To this day, I think the CGI dinosaurs in this 15 year old film are more realistic than most of the CGI I'm seeing in current movies!

5.) The Goonies - What DIDN'T this movie have that appealed to the childhood imagination! I think we all fantasized about finding buried treasure in our local towns! I thought the pipe organ made entirely out of skeletal remains was the coolest thing I'd ever seen!!

6.) E.T. - Again, back in the 80's Spielberg had his hand on the pulse of kid's imaginations and in the case of this movie, their heartstrings!

Plus an honorable mention has to go to Poltergeist. Although he technically did not direct this, I still consider this a "Spielberg" film. He did produce it and his directoral "fingerprints" are all over it!
