But when you make a list this big, it draws attention to the guys you didn't mention. It is interesting that your small list of Americans doesn't include notables such as Hitchcock, Scorsese, Kubrick, Ford, Coppola, Welles, etc, and omitted some international notables like Kurosawa, Bergman, Fellini, Eisenstein, Renoir...

But, to each his own.

Well yea, I admire almost eveyone else you mentioned especially John Ford, Stanley Kubrick and Orson Welles. I Like Bergman and Kurosawa but find Fellini and Renoir overrated. Its just personal preference really.
