Our shows mostly get home video releases after they air. HBO are just weird. We should have been able to buy the series last week!

Although I'm still traumatized by one episode, the wait may do me good!

I'll wait, I managed to get season 3 for £25 from Amazon in a short lived special offer. I pre-ordered & then cancelled from Sainsbury & Zavvi before that.

Don't know why people are so surprised at the long wait for the next season. It's pretty standard practice now for TV titles to get released just a few weeks before the new season airs. Works well for companies because it gives fans a chance to "catch up" and remember where they left off nearly a year ago, and saves on advertising costs because they get promotion of the new series on the back of promoting sales of the old.

If I were in charge of releases I'd do exactly the same thing!

Season 4 was my least favourite season of the show. Throughout the season it went from a show I loved, to a show I really, really like.

Hope Amazon get an exclusive bonus disc again.

Like I've asked in other threads, if anyone has the S1 & 2 bonus discs they don't want anymore, I'll take 'em

I will go for the Amazon.co.uk with bonus disc, just as I did with the previous seasons .

If they do the same as season 3, the existing Amazon pre-order will be changed to include the bonus disc.

I wouldn't mind if Zavvi or HMV got involved and sell an exclusive slipcover like the US have been getting.

I agree with that. Its become a bit stretched ......Its still better than anything else on tv by a mile though

When there's shows like Mad Men, Louie, Fargo and Hannibal airing I'd argue it might not even be in the top 5!

We're not surprised. It's not really standard practice for shows airing on the BBC or ITV (or even shows on SKY). Usually the get released the Monday after the last episode airs. That way people who loved the show will want to own it whilst it's still fresh in their minds and not 8 months later!

I hope a US Amazon pre-order goes up soon. I'll probably go ahead and pre-order it to guarantee a lowest-price copy, then wait and see if anywhere else gets a nice, exclusive slipcover.
