After getting some time with the Alpha I can honestly say that it already looks and runs better than some of the other games currently out. I can only imagine how polished the final version is going to look. I think that once you start playing the game you will see that there is so much going on that you won't even be looking for the 30/60 fps. Even in the Alpha fps wasn't an issue

I would recommend that you reserve the game and take advantage of the Beta. That way you will be able to get your hands on an actual piece of the game which should in turn give you a good feel for the overall gameplay, controls and visuals.

I had the sensitivity cranked to max and it still felt slower than what I needed. Is this the result of 30fps vs. 60fs?

It's not a deal breaker, but was a touch annoying in crucible matches where you need quick reflexes.

I never got a beta invite so I'm not jumping on this on day one until I play a demo

You need to pre order it, to get into the beta 7/17 and the actual beta invites have not been sent out yet by Bungie.

Beta hasn't happened yet? Mean the alpha? Preorder the game like Rat said and you automatically get in on the beta. If you don't care for it you can cancel the preorder. I'm not a diehard FPS fan and I really enjoyed the alpha.

I meant the alpha version

Can you preorder and try the beta and if you don't like it not have any negative issues?

A few minutes after I did my preorder from Amazon I received a code for the Beta. If you don't like what you play during the Beta you could just cancel your order and you are out nothing.

If I remember correctly at Gamestop and Bestbuy you pay at least $5 to preorder but it has been a while since I did a preorder from either of those places. I could be wrong on the $5 part.

You could pre-order online and get a beta code then cancel if you find the price cheaper. Main thing is of course that you don't have to pay until dispatch on Amazon.

I pre-ordered via Amazon but seems like GAME customers got beta codes to redeem on the bungie site before Amazons.

I would say if you didn't get a chance to play the Alpha, you should get a pre-order in to make the beta. Watching videos won't really feel the same. Playing it is oh so sweet!

Yeah I did the preorder yesterday on Amazon and got the beta code, I doubt I will keep the preorder because of the Amazon shipping price on the order.

His state might have made the price go up via higher taxes. Or he has in store game credit/vouchers he can use or a game to trade in towards it.

Regarding Bungie day, I don't have a clue what they usually did for Halo, so this will kinda be a first. Also, I lol'd at the Xbox fanboys claiming PS owners crapped on Bungie. I think they just can't accept Halo was not that appealing.

sales tax completely nullifies the purpose of shopping with Amazon now. There is literally no advantage to buying form them now. I have about $60 in credit which I'll probably save till BF but, I think Im done with Amazon once that runs out

The situation in the UK is a flat tax rate on VAT etc. but the rent on city centre vs. out of town warehouse is how Amazon usually price lower, but now they've intoduced a minimum £0 spend sans Prime for free delivery. Not an issue for game purchases etc.

I have a £10 off that I hop I can still use, but Destiny i'm hoping gets a few more £s shaved off and get to the magical £40 target I aim to pay.

Yep little small things had bothered me about prime which was the add on program and the price went up for shipping with prime without warning. .. Also I have been following the discussion on amazon about people who will renew or not and most have decided with sales tax + higher prime price it's not worth it.. I only buy things that I can't get local and are hard to find.. but I buy from 3rd party to avoid sales tax.

You'd still get free shipping, but I could see why you'd avoid them because of the tax. I only use Amazon when I have gift cards. There really is no advantage because of the tax charges.
