My order from the 26th of The Train, The Man from Laramie, and Born Yesterday still hasn't shipped yet. Not a huge deal since work has kept me from being able to watch anything besides Sons of Anarchy so far this week, but it's still a bit annoying since I've never had this issue before with them. That and it seems like I'm one of the last people around here still waiting for their order to ship.

That´s odd because two days ago I ordered "Brannigan" starring John Wayne and a couple of minutes ago I was informed by mail that it was shipped to me to Europe.

I watched Bye Bye Birdie this afternoon when I got home from work.

At first, I couldn't decide whether this is the most annoyingly cute-innocent movie ever made or the most ironically cynical movie ever made. Ultimately, I think that Bye Bye Birdie works on any level, but, more importantly, it just works across the board as a fun viewing. Ann-Margret is a little firecracker in this movie, and I especially love her in the "Lot of Livin' to Do" sequence.

Bye Bye Birdie is not my favorite Twilight Time Blu-ray, and, in fact, I think that Pal Joey, which I viewed the other night, blows this movie away in every regard. That said, Bye Bye Birdie may have the best high definition transfer of a color film in the entire Twilight Time queue. It really is a marvelous-looking disc.

All in all, I'd give Bye Bye Birdie a solid three and half to four stars in terms of movie content. It's definitely a movie of its time, but Ann-Margaret, Dick Van Dyke, and Janet Leigh all go above and beyond, and the sheer colorful exuberance of the film carries it along.


I have no more unwatched Twilight Time Blu-rays left, so here's hoping that the big care package from my latest pre-order arrives tomorrow.

Ordered on the 28th, including a couple pre-orders, nothing yet either.

(My previous order, "shipped" Monday last week, misdelivered on Thursday, I finally picked up Monday this week, so no hurry really, it still has that fresh new smell to it.)

But my last 4 orders shipped next day

1 Order made 6/19 Shipped on 6/20

Now I do know from previous things I have read that they do not have a huge shipping staff. My guess is I was lucky in my timing and they did not have much back log when my orders were received for processing.

I've found that when you order on pre-order going live day it takes longer to get something, like weeks after the "release" day. This last order for Radio Days was done days after the pre-orders went live, and I should be getting it today or tomorrow.

That's not the issue with my order though. I ordered mine long after Born Yesterday went up for pre-order. It went up for pre-order on the 18th and I placed mine on the 26th. My order was that and two other movies.

I have been saying all along that it's not a huge deal, but I'm beginning to get annoyed now.

I'm actually quite surprised. Last month I got all my new releases that very week. This month it's Friday and I haven't even been charged yet.

Bit the bullet and went with Alfredo Garcia; can't help it, those extras alone make it valuable. I just hope The Train will still be around for next month; people say it's selling like crazy, and when it comes to TT, that means time is short on its availability.

I ordered Brannigan on the first day it went live. It shipped 7/8 and arrived at the post office around 6PM the next day. It was delivered Thursday and watched it last night. Loved it.

Ah the irony. I made a post on the Facebook page about the order, and one hour later I got an email about how the order has shipped.

My order that shipped Tuesday arrived yesterday and Born Yesterday which shipped on Wednesday arrived today.

Once they actually get around to sending it off, the wait is very short.

Well you were probably lucky because none of your orders had items not released yet in them.

Usually mine have pre-orders, or maybe a signed copy; tends to hold things up a bit. With pre-orders, thought I'd mentioned it, usually mine go out on Thursday after release day, this time it was Friday.
