Here are three entries for "List 2" =>

The 1923 Buster Keaton classic "Our Hospitality" and it's first ever remake, 2010's "Maryada Ramanna". Of all places it got remade in Andra Pradesh. (South India) This telugu-language remake was quite a succes so in 2012 it got remade again, this time in hindi as "Son of Sardaar"

For inclusion in list #2. The first half of the film has Holmes and Watson briefly travelling on various trains across Europe to Vienna on the trail of Professor Moriarty
[Show spoiler](as a ruse to lure Homes to Dr. Freud in an attempt to cure him of his cocaine addiction)
and the film culminates in a breakneck train ride across Austria in pursuit of the villains
[Show spoiler] Amin Pasha and Baron von Leinsdorf who have kidnapped Lola Devereaux and are about to launch a war involving all of Europe. In the process, Holmes, Freud, and Watson dismantle a train car for use as fuel in the locomotive's firebox to catch up to the villain's train. Holmes then has a sword duel with von Leinsdorf on its roof
.

I thought you were joking about Snakes on a Train. Leave it to Asylum to come up with that one.

La Bataille du Rail is already in the OP. I'll add Butch Cassidy.

Night Train. A 1959 Polish film that is set entirely on a train.

Good film by the way. I think Poland has the only blu-ray release.

The Yards
Terror Train (how could this one be forgotten with Jamie Lee Curtiss)
The Warriors
The Next Karate Kid (that young man Hilary Swank likes in the movie works as a guard in a train yard)
The movie SPEED ends on a subway train

Please check the OP. Many of these are already listed.

What's the train content in The Yards? I haven't seen that one.

Sadly, it's not on blu-ray. It's my favorite train film, and one of my favorite films regardless of genre.

This looks intriguing. It's region free; I might import it.

I still have a few blu-rays to add, but I'm mostly caught up on people's suggestions for the first two lists. I've added a third bonus list that contains films that meet the criteria for list #1 but haven't yet made it onto blu-ray (only DVD). If you know of any that aren't in the OP yet (and I know I'm missing some, including some that have already been mentioned), please post them. Thanks.

Some Like It Hot really should be moved from List 1 to List 2.

Also, if From Russia With Love and Skyfall are on List 2, you might as well add Live And Let Die (climax takes place on a train), the Spy Who Loved Me (major fight scene with Jaws followed by love scene with Anya) and Goldeneye (the villain's main HQ in Russia is a train).

For List #3, you should add this title starring Pierce Brosnan: https://www.blu-ray.com/dvd/Detonator-DVD/45047/

Perhaps not a train in the strict sense, but THE INCIDENT (1967) is a harrowing drama.

For List 1 =>

Satyajit Ray's 1966 drama "The Hero" (Nayak)

[Show spoiler]Aditi (Sharmila Tagore) is a pretty journalist who interviews the film star Arindam Mukherjee (Uttam Kumar Chatterjee) on a train trip to Delhi, and flashbacks are used to illustrate the main events in the actor's life. After she has completed the interview, Aditi tears up her notes and refuses to use the story that could change the public perception of the popular actor. Satyajit Ray directed and provided the screenplay and music for this feature that was shown at the 1966 Berlin Film Festival.
