I've just listened to the podcast on http://www.clivebarkercast.com/2014/...cream-factory/ which features an interview with Cliff MacMillan from Scream Factory, who worked on this edition of Nightbreed. He says that limiting the number of copies to 5,000 was required by Warner Bros when they licenced to Shout Factory the rights to release the theatrical version of Nightbreed (the theatrical version is only present on the limited edition). He said Shout Factory would have liked to release more than 5,000 copies but that Warner didn't agree, maybe because they wanted to release the theatrical cut by themselves later on.
He also said that the theatrical cut would get a brand-new HD tansfer, and that the director's cut will be made from pristine new material which has just been discovered in Warner Bros./Morgan Creek vaults, which means that the director's cut won't be taken from VHS source, as the "Cabal cut" was. What I wonder is why the people at Shout Factory hasn't included the bonus Blu-ray on the regular edition (which will have only the Director's cut on DVD and Blu-ray). I understand that they can only release 5,000 copies of the theatrical cut, so they could have made a Limited Edition with 3 Blu-rays and a regular edition with 2 Blu-rays, one with the director's cut and the other with special features. It was to late for me to order the Limited Edition from Amazon.com (I wouldn't have thought I would go "sold out" so quickly) but I managed to pre-order one copy on DVDpacific, I hope they will be able to get enough copies when it's released. I live in France, so, it's not that easy to get a copy. |

I think Best Buy MAY be safe since they actually have it set to a limit of 3, but who knows with that. I'm not sure on that one. |

![]() I would go with Amazon.ca now if I was trying to get one. Second pick would be Best Buy. Last edited by DetroitSportsFan; 07-14-2014 at 06:23 PM. |

Yeah, I figure out that, but given the fact that the limited edition is almost "sold out" a few days after it's been avalaible for pre-order and three months before the official release, there's no need at all for an incentive. In fact, many people will have to buy the regular edition because the limited is unavalaible. That's why I think Shout Factory should have put the extra disc also on the regular edition. The Limited Edition is limited only because of the agreement with Warner Bros regarding the theatrical cut.
