Scream cares. Excess stock that isn't selling = money lost.

I don't think it will take years, but I am gonna laugh uncontrollably if they can't get rid of the last few thousand and eventually drop the price just to unload them.

Man, there are really some clueless people in this thread

Sorry, if I want this to be available for a long time...go cry me a river that it is not as limited as you had hoped.

I'd be sure to get a copy if I order on Shout Factory website, but it's more expensive and I don't know if they take international orders (I live in France).
What do you think I should do?
Shout don't ship internationally. I'd eventually pre-order from Amazon when it's back up, if I were in your position :

OK, thanks. But I don't know if we can be sure that Amazon guarantees that all the orders will be fulfilled.

I'm not mocking anyone I just find it ridiculous to get so upset about such a frivolous thing. How were they cheated? They can cancel their preorders and its as if it never happened. The truth is many of the people complaining probably would have ordered at that price anyway had 10,000 been the original run.

Now if this had been released already and another 5000 announced afterwards you would have a fair point.

If you have the energy to wade through the last twenty or so pages, you'll see that people are agreed that if you manage to pre-order with Amazon.com, you are guaranteed a copy.

Not only that, now that this has been bumped up to 10,000 copies I'm certain that everyone who wants a copy will get one now, regardless of where they order.

I doubt even the poster will be worth anything for this release. They have sold thousands of copies with the poster so far and are apparently still offering the poster even with these new copies available. That is way more of the posters available versus just the few hundred for all of their other releases.

The problem is a matter of perspective. The high price point was understandable given a 5,000 print run, but now that the rarity has essentially been cut in half, some people think that there should be a price drop. Others have opinions more along the lines of there shouldn't have been an additional 5,000 units. Some feel this is good for fans, others think the true fans are losing "value".

My stance has always been that this is a good move, but they should've increased to 7,000 or 8,000 first, just to be on the safe side. That being said, I can see why some people are happy, some are sad, and some are mad. It's basic logic. I think a lot of the people who are happy over this turn of events, however, have been overly condescending / mocking of their "opponents", and that they've misrepresented the state of things in several posts.

They are also offering several Posters for sale at Comic Con (Phantom of the Paradise, Motel Hell, etc) so if Nightbreed is included in that group, that's even more copies of the poster floating around.

I thought the posters were only being offered with the initial 1000 pre-orders. I guess they COULD just print more copies. Hm.

No, they are still offering the poster on their site even though they have already sold through 2,300 and now even more. Here is the quote still on the item page...

Quote:
SPECIAL OFFER: Order this limited-edition set directly from ShoutFactory.com and receive one of the first 3,000 numbered copies, an exclusive 18"x24" poster featuring our newly commissioned artwork (available while supplies last), plus FREE standard U.S. shipping two weeks early (10/14)!
That implies that even beyond the 3,000 you could still possibly get one, whatever "while supplies last" means. The very least it's still available and they have already sold at least 2,300 of them. That is WAY more than the number of posters they normally offer. Usually it's 200 or 300, every now and then 750 I believe, but that's it.

Ah, the elderly woman who sued McDonald's had second-third burns.....you should see the photos of her injuries before bringing up mindless talking points about lawsuits.

Just wait until people that preordered right away from Shout! get a copy numbered in the 9,000s or something, then we'll really see some shit hitting the fan!

Hopefully that won't be the case, but I've seen stranger things happen.

If that happens then I'll absolutely complain a great deal.

Oh, and thanks guys. I'm now sitting here watching Hot Coffee on Netflix, haha.

I'm a collector of movies I want to own and enjoy. Not so I can admire my purchase as being rare and worth a lot until the next release comes out and it becomes worthless. Again just cancel your preorder and move on if you feel its not worth $80.00 for a 10,000 copy run. Funny thing is that if they originally said 10,000 limited no one would be complaining about this and would have still ordered it.

LOL @ this release not feeling 'special' anymore because they released 5000 more or feeling 'cheated' by ShoutFactory. This thread is hilarious.
Of course you would say that. You complained because you missed out on the initial run. Your tune has changed. Funny how that works.

I would to. Getting one of the first 1000 was a big reason a lot of people preordered.

Enjoy the movie!

My mistake.. I misread their facebook ad. It states free posters with movie purchase.

Yep, it's a huge reason I preordered that very day.

I just got to the first scene where they are showing the pictures, and I've never seen them before. Holy God almighty!
