Every time the Jaws sequels come up I think I'm in the wrong thread. Let Universal handle these.

I guess pretty much anything is fair game for Shout now if they were granted access to EFNY and Mad Max, two high-profile MGM titles. Carrie or Silence of the Lambs, anyone?

Carrie definitely needs a remaster

Im in for Monkey Shines and the Dark Half - both are very well done.. Anyone who is a fan of George Romeros zombie films needs to check these films out

Scarecrows didn't do anything for me..a few gory killings but it wasn't much past that..characters walking or running around in fields most of the way

Yeah, I remember finding Scarecrows extremely boring. But that was a long time ago during VHS era. Maybe a second viewing in HD can change that.

Last October, they admitted that they actually had licensed Carrie from MGM, but the rights apparently reverted back to MGM. MGM wanted them to have the film scanned, which they agreed to do, but MGM wouldn't give them access to the elements necessary to do the scan.

Yeah, but it's a moot point, since most of the titles that Shout would be interested in are with WB.

Im still shocked over Mad Max, was there a single person who requested that one ?
Im now kicking myself as I imported Dolls and Escape from New York blu rays. I really need a crystal ball ...or long term patience..or both
Im getting those two again ... and Invaders From Mars was a big one for me...glad I held off importing that one.
Monkey Shines and the Dark Half I saw earlier this year and now November will also now be a $$$ month

DOLLS was a given, as anything that has been released in Europe is bound to make it to the states eventually (see Squirm and Motel Hell). I will now just wait before purchasing any more Arrow MGM titles, or stuff from 88 Films. Arrow is probably done with MGM anyway since they haven't announced any further titles. Night of the Comet is the only forthcoming MGM title from Arrow AFAIK.

Escape From New York is a welcome surprise. I actually never expected Shout to be able to license this one. I gotta say I'm pretty satisfied with the Collector's Edition DVD as it contains all the extras I'll ever need (deleted sequence, documentaries, commentaries, even a comic book). Plus I'm keeping the current Blu-ray, the one everyone is saying can't be improved upon because it's "satisfactory" (I disagree), in that edition. Mad Max, OTOH, is a puzzling announcement. Obviously it's a cash-in attempt because of Fury Road, but it's Shout's first such release. It's a major studio tactic. Still, I'll be curious to learn the final specs.

Is there the slightest chance that Shout! could release Hostel: Part II down the road? Sony botched the transfer. The film is much darker and contrasty than it was ever supposed to look. Eli Roth corrected the the transfer and it was shown on TV. But Sony doesn't plan on re-releasing the movie with the new, correct transfer on Blu-ray or DVD. Maybe Shout! could release it?

I really wish that Scream Factory would release Needful Things with Ed Harris so I can retire my pitiful excuse of a DVD. Tales From The Darkside The Movie would be another good one.

Not according to my Poll, I didn't even see a request for it, so like "The Doctor and the Devils" It came out of nowhere, but still I'm thankful for it

Despite all the folks that kept saying, in this very thread, that EFNY wouldn't happen...I never gave up hope.
Granted I know they were basing that on Cliff saying EFNY wasn't going to happen, but obviously things change....and I'm quite happy things did change, and SF stuck with it.

Nothing for me here. What a disappointing list of titles.

Scream, what about releasing Session 9 since Universal seems to have no interest in releasing this themself.

Awesome additions announced at Comic Con! Can't wait to buy them all, hopefully the special features will be KILLER on all of them.

Just placed an order at amazon.uk.co for Dead Silence. Why didn't universal release this on blu-Ray? Fall of 2007, blu ray was over a year old...ah we'll. I wish SF would release it, cause the white artwork look so god awful, and those atrocious ratings logos

I happen to love these films myself, very dark humor. I look forward to seeing them every time they air on Chiller. That being said, this "lunatic" will be the first one in line to buy them when they do.
