Sorry for bumping this can someone pm me or something? Want to know if it is worth it to sit through 10 minutes of credits.

It's the villains they're using. Magneto is layered because he's not just pure evil.

It has really nothing to do with the writers. Just how black and white the original characters are.

I mean... for example Red Skull. You can't really give a Nazi any redeeming qualities.

There are 2, mid and post-credits.

I agree that Marvel's villains could certainly be better. That has been one of my ongoing flaws that I find in nearly every MCU film. That's the one big thing that needs improving. Magneto and Goblin and Doc Ock are great, and of course the Joker in TDK was incredible. You may not know much about him, but you get enough and his presence is dominating, something that the villains in Marvel's movies lack, save for Loki. Also, to say Joker is important to the plot would be an understatement, he drove it. The villains in these movies need to feel like more of a threat, the personal stakes need to be higher.

Thanos looked like a punk in this movie he just sit there while Rohan killed his guy and disrespected him to his face and he did nothing. And Drax was the worst they didn't even need him Groot did more then Drax. Don't get me wrong I loved the movie but they made their best villain look like a punk in the movie
That's how Thanos is supposed to be. He just ignores people he doesn't take seriously. He's a Titan. He could've squashed Ronan like a bug if he wanted to.

Indeed. He doesn't really care who dies. As long as everyone eventually does.

Let "The Boy" play for now. Just like he let Loki play for now.

In the end... he'll kill them just like he plans to kill everyone else. For his love, Death.

Well some people seem to think we're owed something. If you're happy to have extra content that doesn't necessarily provide world changing implications, yes.

Give us the basics, which is enough, because each characters story is there for us to see. Dive deeper in the next film. Not just yet. But all their struggles were defined in this, and all their problems are what brought them together in the end.

It would've to me! I understand what you're saying, and you make a fair argument. It just felt like it was moving a little too fast, like I had missed stuff, it felt kind of like a sequel in a way. Drax IMO would have benefitted the most from some visual of his backstory with Ronan. That aspect was lacking, I didn't feel the connection between those characters enough. It's easy to forgive some of these things though due to the fun, toned down, lighter nature of this MCU installment. But yes, I would like to see some more isolated non-action scenes with these characters in GotG2, some more character scenes.

I feel like I'm the only one who liked it! I thought it was just funny that they even did it, kind of like an in joke to those who know the character but also sort of a flipping the
[Show spoiler]bird ()
situation, to those expecting more. I honestly didn't expect a tease to AAoU but I get why people are disappointed.

Now, though, I really want to check out
[Show spoiler]Howard the Duck (1986). Give this movie a Blu-ray release!

Also, where were the scenes that were in the trailer of Gamora topless from behind and Groot turning on the radio, etc?

Gunn has stated on record that several scenes were created for marketing purposes. Those were likely two of them.

I have a question for those who are more familiar with the GOTG comics (it relates to the movie as well).

[Show spoiler]When Groot regrows does he retain his memories from before? I assume that he does.

Also for the next film ...

[Show spoiler]I hope that they bring his father into the next film as it was teased a few times. Also liked the Star-Prince reference and hopefully that was a tease for things to come in the upcoming film.

Agree completely. Why not sell the movie on what's actually in it, since it's so great?! We were all looking forward to that Gamora scene…
