Default Are there still problems with Planet Earth on Blu-Ray?

If there is one set I wanted on upgrade to Blu-Ray it's Planet Earth. Found a thread on this board from last year that there were some major playback issues with this release. Can't find anything more recent. So, for those that bought this set more recently, are there any problems?

Thanks!

Edit: Here's the problem I was refering too...

It is still on BD25 which means the same master is still being used. So, yes to your question.

Wasn't the playback issues on certain players?

I can't remember any problems playing on PS3.

No such issues for me. I play blu-rays off of a PS3. I absolutely love this set on blu-ray. It's essential. I watch it quite often and so should you.

I picked one up in early March, and played perfectly fine on my PS3 and my old Panasonic 30. All good.

Never had any issues, just make sure that you get the BBC version.

There are no problems with Planet Earth on Blu-ray. There are two different versions though(the BBC version and the Discovery version).

I have the USA BBC one which 1080p. The BBC UK Version is 1080i apparently but it comes with a 5th DVD disc (non HD).

I remember a scene where the helicopter caused interference with the camera very briefly on these forums. But I've never actually seen it myself so it must be minor.

PE is reference quality in parts and should be treated as such. It is arguably the disc which deserves the most repeat viewings.

Are you sure? the UK/AU versions are in 1080p, im pretty sure its the US version that was 1080i. All 5 discs are 1080p

EDIT: turns out im wrong, i just checked my copy and its infact 1080i, its painfull obvious when running on a computer moniter, even on static images like text. man that sucks for me

I also found out the UK HDDVD was 1080p.

My UK BBC version outputs 1080p at 24fps from the PS3 to my TV according to my TV's info display.

I just noted on the back of the box this disclaimer...

"Due to the difficulty in filming in some habitats, a small percentage of the footage has not been filmed in full HD".

That explains the drop in quality in some scenes...
