I'd speculate that ordering directly from Shout Factory might even make getting a slip cover less likely.

Since we know slip covered are usually reserved for the first (maybe first few) generation(s) of these pressed disc you'd probably have the best luck with an outlet less likely to sell Scream Factory titles (assuming they still have "older" stock on hand). Shout Factory might even send their surplus stock to other vendors in wholesale orders further reducing the chances of getting an early run slip cover.

I posted this over in the Herzog thread.

I thnk it'd be awesome if Shout/Scream would offer a limited run of their Collector's Editions that are autographed by one of the film's stars or the director. Something like 500 or so. I personally would prefer that over a folded poster that my wife won't let me hang up in the house lol.

Not that I don't think it's cool that they give out posters with preorders; they definitely don't need to do that and it's awesome that they do. I just think an autographed copy would be more awesome.

Thanks everyone for answers on the slips. I guess I'll get the movies I really care about on ebay for the slips and take a risk on the others. I mostly want The Fog and Assault on Precinct 13 for my Carpenter collection to look as best as they can. Already got Halloween 2 with a slip off ebay.

I already sort of regret not picking this up today. I'm such a dork.

mine refused the platform until like 4 months ago... she finally started buying them herself. before then she went out of her way to buy DVDs, now we have all these dvds of crap that should have been bought on blu-ray to begin with, that we are rebuying. lol like she bought iron man 2 on dvd for like 5 bucks, then a month later bought the blu-ray. same with the xmen movies.

I avoided that problem just by always being the guy who buys the media. If she wants a movie she tells me to order it for her and I get the right version!

I was taking a look at your effort and came across this section:

i contacted Scream! Factory on facebook and stated "give us Savage Harvest!" to which they replied: "Sorry, we can't. Music rights - in particular, a beatles song that plays in a prominent scene - will likely prevent this one from ever coming out." BUMMER! so that is why it has never been released... because of paul, george, yoko and ringo's greed!
To be fair, the Beatles themselves are pretty much blameless in this situation. The publishing rights to most of their songs (including I Want to Hold Your Hand and All You Need is Love) are jointly owned by Sony and Michael Jackson's estate through Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Paul, Ringo and the Estates of John and George have no say so over the commercial use of these songs.

<off topic> touche, but its more fun to blame yoko ono :P but i am aware. i have the entire discography box set on cd, and several of the albums on vinyl as well, as well as have read their official biography several times, but i know that the beatles are not strangers to being greedy :P so even if it had nothing to do with the publishers or such, paul and ringo would still ask the moon for their jams. look at how long it too Apple to get their songs for itunes, they had been trying since the stores inception. </off topic>

yup. I just bought my first house and after deciding that we would finish the attic (which is HUGE; the main enormous part and then a college dorm sized room) and turn it into our daughter's room (small room) and her play room (the rest of it), there was one extra room. It would be either my office where I can hang my Scream posters and my NY Knicks autographed pictures (another hobby of mine) or her craft room since she is huge into crafts, wedding invitations, scrap booking, etc. Care to take a guess who gets the room?

All my awesome wall stuff has no where to be displayed in my own house.

Commercially, I'll say Halloween II, only because of the success of the first one.

John Carpenter's The Fog has a lot of name recognition. The Psycho sequels from the 1980s were notable successes as well.
