If you can wait, I think Netflix will probably get it eventually.

Really strange. Called one location - said they didn't have it but said release day is for next Tuesday and that it was a mistake on flyer. Same thing for another location that had it but refusing to sell it.

If I knew that Netflix would get it for sure I would wait, but I've tried searching the internet and couldn't find anything on a streaming deal. It's only $35 so I'll just buy it so I can be certain that I'm caught up in time for season 2 if I enjoy the show.

To those looking for the Red Editions at Target - I finally found them on an endcap with other new/recent releases at the front of the store with the cash registers. There were only regular editions in the Electronics section (where I checked first, and a worker there even told me that they didn't get any of the special editions in). I got the only BD version but they had 3 DVD sets.

So it's stacked discs?

So there is a Blu-ray version of the Red Edition?

Yep Misspoke a little earlier: its 5 discs total, so two discs stacked on one side and three on the left

I really hate stacked, but I was amazed to discover not a single scratch!

I've already moved to another case temporarily. I just need to figure out if I can find a 5 disc case with the same thickness and use the artwork.

Confirmation:

The five discs in this US set are REGION A LOCKED. The forthcoming international sets from Sony display ABC logos on the artwork, so they should be region-free, but I'm not sure if all the extras will be ported over.

The case for Star Trek: The Next Generation (Season 2) fits perfectly inside the regular slipcover for The Blacklist. That is a five-disc case with separated discs.

Just ordered a Viva 5-disc.

Sad studios can't release a quality product the first time.

Mine also only had one. Was yours in a spider wrap? Mine was and it has some damage on the top and the corners are mashed like someone tossed it around a bit.

Does Sony usually stack the discs in their blu-ray cases? This is the first time I've bought a Sony tv series on blu-ray.

I've learned.

The employees sometimes dump the movies in a cart and spider-wrap them all. I call the day before and ask for them to hold a copy before it ends up in the jaws of death.

My friend lives in the 'rich' part of Minnesota and his Target doesn't use security devices for movies.

Can somebody add the "Red Edition" version to the list? I want to add it to my collection.

The only Blu-rays my local Target uses security devices on is for very expensive sets like the complete series of Friends, so I've never had to deal with Blu-rays that are damaged by the devices. When I go to the town next to me, which is a bigger town with a much higher crime rate they use security devices on practically all of their Blu-rays.

I added the US "Red Edition" here:

No picture yet, though.

To everyone complaining about Sony stacking the discs.... Don't get me wrong. I hate it, but it's likely not Sony's choice. I've bought 4-disc Vortex cases before from Casetopia and the supplier they got them from only had stacked disc cases, so it was likely out of Sony's hands unless they were willing to go out of their way to find older supply. This is a 5-disc release, but same difference.
