Since I've gotten back into gaming with my ps3 purchase 18 months ago, single player campaigns don't interest me. I only play the online aspect. I've tried the missions in COD4, RSV2, GTAIV and they are all boring IMHO.

If you don't have a great multiplayer online game, you can't compete.

I'm debating if I'm going to buy MGS4 today for its online. I played the beta but wasn't all that thrilled with it.

The demo was so much fun. A definite buy for me, even if the single player sucks.

Between this, MGSO and Resistance2 ill be good for mp-fps for the next 6months.

My favorite FPS so far (and BY FAR) has been Resistance, mostly due to the story and the 2p coop. I usually base my purchases on having a good story mode first. I loved GTA4 single player, same with COD4 (although cod4 was too short). I didnt even bother with the online on RB6v or GRAW2. And thats why im buying MGS4. The online is a bonus.

I did buy warhawk though. But that I got the headset version for $35 at launch so that was a cant-lose purchase.

I love Battefield due to the non-regenerative healing and the vehicles. COD4 was too bare-bones for me.

I'm like you in that I'm only interested in the online parts and was pretty disappointed with MGS online. It is very different from Resistance, BBC, and COD so if you like those types of gameplay, you might want to rent MGS first as I'm beginning to wish I hadn't bought it. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the single player is great and the graphics are good but I just didn't enjoy the online play like I have with BBC this past week.

FPS on consoles is nothing but frustration. FPS games belong to the PC simply due to the superior interface.

PCs are the way of the Past, soon we'll have computers built into our retinas, then FPS will return to their rightful place....

Is it basically like the online Beta? I guess I'm new to the whole MGS franchise so I'm trying to educate myself. Typically when I get the strat guides I tend to get more comfortable with the games. I was a fish out of water when I first got COD4 but once I read stuff and got the entire picture it was awesome. That is my hope with MGS4. I won't open yet, but the deal at CC with the free strat guide was killer. I want to try and find some reviews for the online portion first.

Seriously, if you already have COD4, don't bother, if you don't, then buy that instead.

This isn't Battlefield, not even close
There was no real good BF game since 1942.

Reflections? are you serious? This game kicks the living hell outa COD4 "All-around" The textures are better, The sound is better, The animations are a bit better(although theres no leap animation to get over things, this is kinda ghetto). The sniping also is alot better there is actually bullet fly time(where as in COD4 it was instant). Also most sniping scope lens dont have reflections or glare on them. They have that anti glare film on them, so this was kinda of an annoyance to me on COD4.

I am in no way trying to dog COD4. I put in over 10 days of play time with over 5000 wins and over 1800 sniper kills with alittle over 1300 sniper head shots. I just happened to find a new love in life!

I would realy recommend that you all download this or if you already have tell us what you think!

Im a tempted buyer already!
I haven't completed the demo but from what I've seen so far, I really like it. It's a nice change of pace (enjoyed the humor) and I thought the graphics were good. I spent a while ignoring the objectives and just driving that truck around while the AI players shot everything in sight. It was a blast especially once stuff was exploding left and right as I drove through occupied areas.
