After running Audessey (and having the exact same setup as you) and tweaking it mine came out to be 100hz for all the speakers and 120hz for the LPF of LFE for the sub. 100hz is where the Audessey put the speakers and I played with sub settings until I found what I liked. I tried 80hz and found that the surround wasn't as "deep" and "full" as I liked. 100hz seemed perfect to me with these speakers.
I have double bass off. It sounds quite good to my ears. Originally I think the sub's LPF of LFE was set to 80hz and it rarely ever kicked on that I could tell. Note- I'm not super knowledgable on the subject either as I just got mine set up this weekend. Crackin should start making commission on this setup! ![]() Quote:
If it's a different player and can bitstream it, do so and it'll say right on the display of your Onk. If you have different speakers the settings will be different. Your fronts may be able to do the full band, and if you have your sub wired in with the center it may read it as full range and send the LFE to the sub. The way you phrased your post made it sound like you had the same speakers as the OP. Last edited by aramis109; 06-16-2008 at 08:41 PM. |

i dont know why but when i run the audssey it sounds like shit. so i leave the custom EQ settings off cause normally they change to audssey when you have modes other than direct. but its only Direct 99% of the time anyway cause thats what sounds best.

Well after digging in the manual more (just got my speakers this weekend) I set it just like the OP's. It does state to set 'em at 120hz just like Crackin says. Does it sound better? Hard to tell yet. It certainly doesn't sound worse.
*Edit* Update- yes, after playing a LOT of movies, it sounds better. Things are more crisp and clean than before. Last edited by aramis109; 06-23-2008 at 05:41 AM. |
