Yeah, that doesn't look to good. But you really can't put all your worries into those complaints. I did the 90 day "Bill Me later" deal. I'll see if they handle me well.

One more, hopefully, stupid question. I will be able to listen to normal TV shows and sports through my Plasma, right? I never have turned on the regular TV speakers.

you should be able to run an additional rca red/white audio cable from your cable box directly to the TV so if you want to listen to the TV speakers instead of the surround sound speakers you can. (well at least you might be able to, I can with my dishnetwork box)

I don't know if ebay is an option for you but there is a pair of Omnisat v2 for a great price from a person with excellent feedback.

I've always run a digital monster audio cable from the cable box to the Bose receiver. Could I still do that with the 705? Do I need to now that I'll be using HDMI? I love watching normal TV in my surrounds. I'm hoping I can still do that with the 705.

Is this just a pair and not the full 5 speakers? I'll probably just purchase the whole set from the factory.

I bet these sound fantastic, but they're a bit rectangular for my taste. I really like the looks of the NANOSATS more. Thanks for the link though.

Since you looked at those.. Take a look at these.. Might be some of the best looking speakers you can find(finish wise).

And are a little smaller than the SVS system..

Aperion Fusion SD

Again, probably perform really nice, but too square for my taste and very utilitarian looking for me. Hey, I see we have the same Plasma.

Man I really need to throw away some of my older magazines away but sometimes they are useful.

There is a complete review of the "Mirage Omnistat v2 Speaker system" in the May 2006 issue of "Home Theater Mag". It may be avaliable online.

I get it, your taste is "new school" no problem.

well, you would probably be running an HDMI cable from your cable box to the receiver, this will allow you to play the cablebox audio through your receiver speakers.

Also if you connected the red/white RCA cables from the cable box directly to the TV, you could listen through your TV speakers without needing the receiver for audio.

Thats what I thought you were asking? (to be able to listen through your tv speakers?)

I don't think its so much that he didnt like the options presented to him (those speakers would rock any setup), i think its more of the fact he will be hanging them from the ceiling with trying to keep his wife happy at the same time. A much bigger bulkier speaker hanging upside down would not be aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.

Didn't know but, have you ever considered "in-wall" speakers? You can get excellent sound while pretty much making them disappear.

I gotcha! I would rarely, if ever, find a need to listen to the TV speakers. Always going through the surround.

You're really right on the mark here, crackinhedz. There are a couple of things working here in the mix when it comes to my choices in these satellites.

Yes, they do need to have an aesthetic appeal to the eye to satisfy my wife. No utilitarian or boxy large speakers to look at. Of course, they need to satisfy my eye also and I, too, enjoy a smaller less square configuration for hanging speakers.
