Pretty sure they even said that already. The stuff listed isn't the only stuff that will be in 2.0 and they will talk more as they get closer to release.

Aye.

Here is the text from the PS blog about it

Quote:
Since we first unveiled PlayStation 4 and its deep social capabilities, including the SHARE button, we’ve seen an outpouring of excitement from gamers. The PS Nation has rallied around a culture focused on sharing epic gaming moments through Live From PlayStation, interactive streaming, SHAREfactory, What’s New and Photo Mode in exclusive PS4 games like Infamous Second Son and The Last of Us Remastered. Let’s go a step further together. Let’s go from sitting back and watching friends play to actually jumping into games remotely and sharing great experiences together in real time. Today at the PlayStation press conference at Gamescom, we will deliver on yet another promise from the PS4 announcement and introduce Share Play, coming to PlayStation 4 later this fall.

The best way to think about Share Play is like a “virtual couch”. PlayStation 4 will create an online local co-op experience by allowing you to invite a friend to join your game—even when they don’t own a copy of it. With this first-of-its-kind feature, you’ll be able to play games with a friend just as if you were together in the same room. Let’s say that with games… you’ll be able to invite your friend online to play against the Miami Heat for the championship as the San Antonio Spurs in NBA2K, tackle the challenging Towerfall Ascension Quest Mode together, or aide, heal, and protect you as Igniculus in Child of Light’s local co-op mode.

With Share Play, you can even jump into a game to assist a friend. For example, if there is part of a game that you can’t quite finish, you can invite a friend to take over your controls. Like handing over the controller to a friend on your couch, your screen will be shared as your friend gets through the part of the game that has been giving you trouble—can’t get past that part in The Last of Us: Remastered when you’re hanging upside down? Get a little help.

Share Play will be coming to PS4 as part of the upcoming system software update v2.00, scheduled for release this fall. The update will also add highly requested broadcast and video share features, including both uploading your game play footage and dedicated app support for YouTube, which we mentioned on stage at E3. Finally, What’s New will get enhanced real-time activity through friend-of-friend suggestions, allowing instant access to friends’ and recently played games’ broadcasts, and a real name search function will also be added. More features to come when v2.00 is made available this fall, and we will have more to announce in the coming months..

We always want to hear your feedback and look forward to what you are most excited to experience together first Share Play when the feature comes to PS4 this fall. What will you co-op first with Share Play?
This game sharing feature seems amazing. Wonder why it's not talked about more. It's like the much publicized Far Cry 4 feature, except for every game. Not being much about Multiplayer, I don't really see using it much, but it seems pretty big to me.

Now, how about the Mp3/ DLNA/ Multimedia Remote and system suspend/ resume Sony ?

I tweeted PlayStation UK about MP3/4 and CD support and they said they had no information about these at this time.

Of all the "missing" features, I think CD support and music playback via USB, etc, are looking more and more unlikely. I found it useful on the PS3 as I'd use it to rip my CD's at high quality then copy them onto a stick for use on other devices. It just doesn't seem to be a priority on the PS4

I have plenty of quibbles (no MP3 and customizable backgrounds being the biggest) but shareplay does sound very cool. It sounds like it might have a time limit (understandable, since you could just share games with all your friends with only one of you buying them) but I could finally demo a lot of games to my friends that shun digital games for whatever reason.

It's got a 1 hour time limit.

Update: Sony has expanded on its announcement in a PlayStation Blog post. The company says to think of Share Play as a "virtual couch" allowing for "an online local co-op experience" that doesn't require your friend to own the game in question. It also highlights the fact that this is the realization of the previously announced feature allowing a friend to take control of your game; if you're having trouble with something, you can have someone remotely take over and help you through it.

Also coming in the 2.0 update is a dedicated YouTube app, real-time activity feeds in the What's New section, and more that's still to be announced.

The 2.0 update is scheduled for release sometime this fall.

Original Story: During its Gamescom press conference today, Sony announced the details of the PlayStation 4's 2.0 system update. It introduces a variety of new features, the most signficant of which is called Share Play.

Details on exactly how Share Play will work weren't shared, but, put simply, it allows you to play local multiplayer games with a friend who is not physically with you. This works in two different ways. In one case, you can (virtually) hand off your controller to a friend as if you were both sitting in the same room, presumably so you could take turns with a single-player game. In the other case, you can invite someone to play a game's local multiplayer with you--again, without actually being in the same physical location. Share Play requires PlayStation Plus.

Other new features in the 2.0 update include the ability to search for PlayStation Network users by their real name, and a way to upload saved videos directly to YouTube (rather than just Facebook).

A release date for the 2.0 update was not announced.

Shareplay is great for games like Lego Marvel which feature only local co-op. I bet you'd need a really fast internet connection though. How about if you both own the game? It'd be great if it turns local co-op into online co-op like Tunngle for PC. This method would work even if one has a lower internet speed as there wouldn't be a need to transfer actual game data..

Wow. If true it seems a lot of people will go nuts over this, it is a pretty commonly requested feature.

Hopefully MP3s+ video playback as well as media remotes (BT) will also be included. 2.0 is looking like a pretty beefy one now.

The 60mn time limit has now been confirmed, but also that it is not limited in how many times you can do it per day.
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/ps4.../1100-6421730/

My guess is that there is a 60mn time out to avoid people leaving their console on all day and letting someone online play a game for free for hours on end (which is not the goal of the feature - it's to share your game and play while together online / a hands off the controller type experience to share, like a "couch").

No themes in 2.0.

in a post on neogaf, sid shuman just crushed a lot of dreams, and mentioned themes are not coming to the ps4; at least not yet. Also, there is a very small chance that shuman let the cat out of the bag a bit too early and he’s doing damage control. Well, one can hope, anyway.

hi guys – sid from the blogcast here, just wanted to confirm that this was in error and the show has been corrected. Sorry for the mixup! We’ll keep you posted on any news related to ps4 themes in the future.

once sony does officially announce themes are indeed coming to the ps4, we’ll be sure to let everyone know. In the meantime, you’ll have to keep your ps3 for your dynamic theme fix.

I was figuring the same. Shareplay is about a shared play experience, not about sharing games.

The 60 minute time limit means I can't just boot up my PS4 on a Saturday morning for a buddy that wants to play through Knack and then leave the house and do all my weekend errands. (Or someone in Europe booting it up before bed for an American buddy to play most of their evening.)

Personally I have no issue with it considering what they are trying to achieve.
