I would say rent it, if possible, if you like it, then buy it, if not then you didn't blow 60 clams.

I think this is going to a great experiment (or example) in video game pricing and value.

The Second Son "First Light" game/DLC will be $15, provide 4-6 hours of single player content and a Platinum.

Bungie will be charging ~15-20 per expansion. But how do we judge it? By total hours to play? Does a bunch of new fetch quests that are slight mechanical variations count? Do you count a Strike once or the 10-20 times you're going to play it?

Value for the money is a pretty nebulous thing. Flower, Journey, First Light, Guacamelee, Resogun.... All have pretty different returns in what they offer and probably all had pretty different programming times and costs.

The simplest answer is - the market will bear what the market will bear.

Did you like Borderlands or Borderlands 2? If so, you'll probably like this.

That's good advice I think as I've been burned in the past with losing 60 clams. The more I see of it I think I'm going to pass.

I didn't care for the MP. I really liked the Single Player and Co-op modes.

I was lurking on GAF and apparently you can only equip one exotic armour piece and one exotic weapon. That's total horsecrap.

With the amount of effort it would take take to earn, WHY would Bungie make such a douche restriction? You can wear full sets of armour for literally everything else, but exotics which are hard earned are off limits?

Even WoW and other MMOs etc. understand if their users put in the effort, then they should be able to show off the fruits of their labours. So Bungie better get its crap together.

Tis true, 1 exotic weapon & armor can be equipped at one time, you can carry more, but only equip 1 weapon & armor piece. I don't think this is going to be a problem until much later in the game. I would be highly surprised to even have 2 pieces of exotics in our inventory after a month or two. They are exotic for a reason, they will be extremely hard to obtain.

I anticipate users will have exotics in their inventory in the 1st month given how hardcore some are. However, it still makes no logical sense why they are doing this. If we earn them, it should be usable.

There is one theory I have, and it's because Bungie have added skill perks to the exotic armours not on any others, and if they let you have a whole set, it may let people become 'too powerful. I still don't see an issue in letting people go crazy on those things. In the Crucible, those things could be negated and made cosmetic only items where armours concerned and Iron Banner is meant to be for the most powerful gear to go head to head. So everybody would eventually be on an even level there too.

I don't agree whatsoever with Bungies decision. They may cite 'balancing' but again, it all screams horsecrap to me and something they're holding back for the future to suddenly go.'TA DA!'. That's not nice.

Bungie Surprised By Criticisms That Destiny Is Too Small

Quote:
When the Destiny beta went live last month, some fans immediately criticized developer Bungie over the fact that every planet will only have one location to explore. The studio quickly responded to these concerns, saying these locations will have a deep scope and breadth of activities, and could even get larger over time through add-on content. Now, Bungie has commented again on the debate over Bungie's size.

Bungie director of production Jonty Barnes tells Eurogamer, "If I'm honest with you, it blew my mind, because it's the biggest game we've ever made. I don't think people understand the depth and amount of gameplay there is in Destiny." He added that people were basing their opinions on the beta version of Destiny, which represents just a slice of what the full game has to offer. "I don't understand how people could have that concern when you think about that and all the different planets we're going to open up and the gameplay we've got there," he said.

Barnes said he's not losing sleep over the concerns, however, because he knows just how massively larger Destiny is than anything Bungie has ever made before. "I honestly believe Destiny is a huge game," he said. "I can tell you that through blood and sweat as well. It's been a huge game and undertaking for us. Compared to anything we've done before, if you're going to do a comparison, you're laughing, honestly."
Source

I'm actually surprised too because I spent quite a lot of time in the beta and could tell even in Old Russia there were plenty of areas that weren't opened up yet. I'll be sinking plenty of time into this game, even before the expansions are released.
